The stay with the super-e topic;
My back went to 52ish vision and started cutting backwards and sidetoside much more, while at 43ish he was much better at it. That (small) difference was huge.
Allthough that was because before he just failed to see anything in some ticks which kind of negates the super-e function.

If super-e just means that he takes a look every tick instead of every 2 or 3 then with high vision he will see something every tick and adjust, with low vision he will just look past everything and run on. Repeat every tick untill he does win a visioncheck and see a tackler and adjusts.

So with low vision the super-e kind of rescues you because he will just visioncheck more often.
With high vision he will actually see something every tick and become crazy. If you lower the slider he will just look less often (every 2/3 ticks on 99). But will probably see something and adjust.

So because vision/pathing isnt that great and you need to find a sweet spot for your vision/agi. Super-e is just a coverup for low vision backs and is too much for a higher vision back.

Once more vision >> less vision regardless, then you would always want more looks if your an evasive back. But as that is clearly not the case you need to find a sweet spot. Your best bet is not to touch vision and the slider after that..

then they probably need to dial down the pwer-elusive slider.

my speculation is that vision increases the radius of vision your dot has. the slider adjusts how dramatically he reacts to players in his path.

a guy with 30 vision on super-elusive is going to run straight ahead. when a defender enters his small radius, he is going to freak out and hesitate a lot, trying to find away around him. A guy with 70 vision on super elusive is going to see players way far out and still react pretty drastically.

IMO, the best way to build elusive is to get high vision, but to dial down the power-elusive slider. that way your guy can see players further away, but not react so drastically. seeing them further out gives him more ticks to avoid them without slamming on the brakes.

wasn't expecting more responses. Thanks for all the different opinions guys... even if it has effectively just confused me more

except, that's not what happens with low vision elusive backs. they don't 'freak out' very often...so why would you ever waste all those points in vision just to dial down your slider and run straight ahead anyway?

Here are some plays this season of my super elusive back. The compition isn't that good, but you can see the style. He has currently has 84 agility, 49 vision, and 25 speed at lvl 17. After one game this season I can finally cap speed. He should be better after that. He has averaged 313 yards a game against bad comp this pre season. I think the 3rd play shows best what super elusive can do even at low lvls, the way he zigs and zags out of traffic.

Lvl 53 se back

Ran it all last season MVP of SE AA 2 and still running it

97 spd
76 agi
48 vis
55 carry
40 jmp
40 cth

15 scat back
15 quick feet

10 qc
10 hf
5 fs
7 juke
3 spin

Slippery va is junk, vision is wasted over 48

Just my 2cents... and to Maddog. Imo too much agi. Spd is still #1 and agi #2 but that's just an opinion. Plays look good but at those lvls no one has vis or agi let alone any ability to tkl that kind of player.

That's pretty sweet nico. Makes me think that I'm not wasting my time with my build. I had a bunch of people tell me super elusive wasn't any good. What would you say is the most important sa's for this type of back, and what about va's? Nevermind I looked back at your post. Got it.

I've heard the same negatives about super elusive. I have a high vision back (62 natural) with 104 speed, 62 str, and 76 agi. I find my back lacks decisiveness at super elusive which appears to have to do with what was explained here with the tick rate. I tend to do well with the slider at closer to balanced.

I am now just working on my SAs, which should make a difference if I decide to try super elusive again.

I did just upgrade custom EQ to get my QC to 14. But I need to get my other elusive SAs to 8 or above. I'm interested to see how my QC looks after this upgrade.

I started building at season one and it is frustrating that I followed the vision advice and then got too high for it to work well. We'll see how it works as I get my SAs of HF and Juke up to 8 or above, but I might be best as a combo back.

Yeah I would say with your strenght, why would you want to run on super elusive. In that mode you try to avoid all contact, but you are probably a pretty high lvl so your strenght may not be all that high.

It's high enough level, that my strength is more of a necessity than an asset.
