They couldnt score on us last time what makes you think we are gonna get blown out by 24. On paper we got them beat.

I don't think anything. It's all computer generated predictions.

I'm getting the computer some new algorithms for next season though...

Wow Alabama has a 36 point advantage over us....

Are we really that weak compared to Alabama?? I guess the bigger the gap the bigger the upset

Honestly I think you have one of the best gameplanners out there because you guys have been pulling upsets all season. We are really going to have to think hard about how to put them 35 points I promised my team on you. Good luck Austin

Well, firstly, it's just a bit of fun. I suspect that about half the games will be within a touchdown of my predictions. Most likely the closer ones. But they are skewed somewhat by the nature of the "catch-up" part of the sim. Because a team behind tries saving time, so they can score the required amount of points, there's more time for a truly dominant team in a game to put more points on the board. So you get bigger wins than you should in non-close games. Teams who are three touchdowns stronger will tend to win by five touchdowns because of this effect.

Also, I base my ratings, and therefore these extrapolated predictions, on the last 5 games each team has played, their margins of victory, and the strength of their opposition. When Alabama (or Indy or NY...) have been racking up the points against weak opposition, they have soared ahead, and the expected margin of victory against teams battling in mid-table goes up. This is a flaw. A consequence of this is that when a high-flying team wins a close game against reasonably strong opposition, they actually fall in my rankings. And Alabama and Indy have been doing just that in the last few weeks.

Had I been asked to predict your result against the Tide three weeks ago, it would have been a much higher margin.

Its a real possibility that Austin has better builds than most of the conference, or their player builds fit what they run the best.

IMO game planning can't be the only factor in why they are where they are. On paper they are borderline playoffs, but they rocked some people.
