I would never put a single SP into tackling as a corner . . .

Elaborate please

What's to elaborate? That's about as concrete and it can get. If your corner ever needs tackling then you need to find a team with a better front 7. In no way shape or form should it ever be a corner backs responsibility to make tackles. Maybe on a play where your wide receiver caught the ball. But if the WR is catching the ball on you, you have more things to worry about over tackling.

Thank you for elaborating, even after the "What's to elaborate?" business

I would never put SP into tackling or strength as a CB. That's retarded.

Alright, I'll chime in on this.

to make a good Interception CB you need to understand some things:

A. you will never make an interception if you cannot stick to your man.
B. Aggressive INT tries are difficult to not get burnt on, you need a lot of vision.
C. Catching should always be higher than jumping... this even helps for pass deflections.

A good CB finalized build looks like:

Speed: 100+ (all gear goes here)
Agility: 70+
Vision: 70
Catching: 70
Jumping: 60
Tackling: 50
Strength: 50
Confidence: 50

Now this is long ways down the build, but those are in order of their importance and also in order of how you should build them up.

of course there are SAs, but I won't go into those

THIS...My CB had 16 picks this year and got burnt only once this year by following the exact same order of importance. But i didn't jack up my vision and speed as much as he did. You can make up for speed wit VAs (thats what i did) and he's lookin hella fast on the field. Vision i don't really see what getting it that high will do. I'm already seeing my CB make a break on the ball bout a half second before its release at 55 so what will getting it to 70 do? ESP? But overall and dont neglect tackling and strength either, strenghtwill help deflecting passes in trafic and tackling prevents the defender from catching off the deflection...just dont go crazy with it.

higher vision will give him better reaction time to the pass and to the run, a lot of time pitches work so well bcause the CBs are caught off guard, with higher vision they can avoid blocks and get to the ball carrier, they also have a better chance of not only breaking in time to make an INT on coverage, they have a better chance to break to another coverage if the ball is thrown to get a pick off a target other than the one he is covering.

you'll find that without higher than 60 vision a super elusive WR that can cut quickly and throw headfakes will make you miss your cut on crossing routes and end up a step or two behind.

Ok instead of criticizing you I will give my own interpretation of a Finalized CB, In order of importance.

Speed: 95 (EQ Split between speed and agility, slightly favoring speed)
Agility: 85
Vision: 70
SV SA: 7+
Jumping :48
Catching :60
CD SA: 6+
SDC SA: 5+
Strength: 50(for jackhammer)
Confidence :35
Tackling: 35

Moar CD or SDC or SV if you got AEQ! I can see jumping being taken to 60 too. Not necessary, but not a bad idea either.
Id actually recommend taking SV to 10, so finding advanced AEQ with SV is a must!

And note, this is order of "importance" not order of building.

Both sticky hands and high catching are cromulant ways to get a lot of INTs imo.

Since we're doing goal builds:

Speed: 90
Agility: 90
Vision: 70-75
SV SA: 10
Jumping :61
Catching :35-48 (depending on if you can afford the sps)
CD SA: 6+
SDC SA: 9
SB SA: 7
Strength: 35-50 (depending on if you can afford the sps)
Confidence :48
Tackling: 30-40 (but no sps spent)

I guess my build is a little more geared for the INT, this would be more for shutdown It seems.
