I love that stuff.

If you aren't a fan of old bay, then I would just go with some good old salt and pepper in place of it. You won't need too much salt as you are eating something that came out of salt water.

What part of MD?

yeah I am weird, anything that tastes off to me I usually don't like, PLUS my parents were never crab fans growing up so having old bay for the first time at about 18 it is kind of strong.

I live in Frederick

If you are up for a little trip down to Gaithersburg, O'Donnells makes one of the best crab cakes I have ever had. It is a little pricey, but the food is fantastic.

EDIT: the menu doesn't list any prices, but if I remember correctly, the signature crab cakes entree was like $25 or $28.

I was born in Maryland, and then moved to Charleston, SC....two Seafood Meccas. The best crab cakes are Maryland style and only have 4 ingredients.....lump crab meat, egg, mayonaise, Old Bay seasoning.

16 oz lump crab meat
1 egg
2 tbsp Mayo
1 tsp old bay

In a bowl mix the egg, mayo, and old bay until you end up with a smooth and even consistency. Gently add in your crab meat. You want to keep the lumps in tact for the most part, while getting some of the mixture added in to hold the crab cake together. Ball the crab cakes up into 4 or 5 patties and pan fry on Medium heat with BUTTER....not oil, not margarine....BUTTER.

Yeah I live in maryland but grew up in va. I fucking hate old bay

AM from dc and i love old bay
