Good Luck man, I have been on Compton for the last 2 seasons(this will be my third) and you were a great rival of us. You have put a great team on the field since you became an owner. I hate to see you and CCCC leave but I understand if you feel you have to.

If it's really the personal stuff that is the biggest reason, finish out the season by letting someone on the team do AI and take care of your bidness

We lost a tie breaker one season because of points scored. We were still in the playoffs, but it can happen and with the league being tougher and everything it definitely could happen

you guys should stick it out..you never know what could happen..OFG started out fairly bad last season and turned it around.....Granted it wasnt the same sim...but it can happen

I understand your frustrations buddy, but mid-season gutting is the worst. Teams you've already played get screwed on the awards, not to mention those post-gut teams have a huge advantage in point scored, which could decide a playoff spot in the east.

As far the zone thing works, ya, its tough breaks no doubt, but a lot of zone coverage is very good still and your players can still be assets in the secondary.

As far as finance goes, there is not a single team in USA Pro, aside from maybe DDL, who can afford full LVL 56 equipment. You are not nearly as behind as you'd like to think buddy.

I was tempted to offer to OC for you guys to help out if you wanted, but with 3 teams already on my plate I don't think I can do that. Whatever your decision, best of luck to you OP...

I would be incredibly surprised if there is not another VA reset next offseason (unless not done next offseason because it was done during this season.


Totally not trying to be a dick but I am wondering if you tried the zone prior to the last reset. Reason I ask is it would be even worse if you did homework and then against certain plays it blows.

1 other option is seeing if someone on your team wants to take over the team. (similar to what monkeyskin did with the Bullets)

I ran zone all preseason. I was going to make a final evaluation of it after the first game (before the last reset) but I fucked up the AI and had very little to go on. We didn't look bad in the preseason but considering every single play we were using was a custom play I figured with some tweaking it could be very good. I also figured that with zone defense in place we could get a lot of picks using the boost but since we went with ball hawk we can't play on aggressive pass defense because of the other bug.

I might be able to get around both of these problems but I'm having defenses called that I don't even have set up in my playbook, others that are being called randomly and it isn't AI issues. On offense, we had the same plays run over and over and over because the random play generator is fucked until we cross the unknown repeat play penalty when I probably have the biggest playbook in the league. I would go with a completely new custom AI but what is the point because today, every defensive play is broken.

So basically the team is fucked season regardless. We worked our way up from BBB in season 2 and didn't get homefield through the playoffs but twice. Plus we spent money on equipment trying to adjust builds and the team is broke. Some of our players don't have level 48 equipment, nobody has level 56 and we wont ever be able to afford it. But teams that have been in pro for a long time have racked up money from better ticket sales and many of the teams up here racked up huge sums of money because of the ticket sale exploits in seasons 2-4 and they can afford plenty of equipment to adjust players and buy level 56 for everyone. If we have a shitty season this season then our fan support is gone and we make even less money next season. It is bullshit from top to bottom.

I have a couple people offering to run tactics so I might let them finish out the season but I'd really like if one of the players took over the team because the guys on the team have really become like a big family but most of them already own teams so that isn't looking too promising.

Well that totally sucks. Financially speaking we never did any exploits but still have a fair sum of money as we are very stable and never had to pay for new players so to speak and historically speaking ran with a smaller roster than we do these days which help as well.

I would like to see you stick around - I don't know many of your agents well but do know JAG is a good guy. I think you would likely perform well enough using a combination of zone and ballhawk and you may be able to find an ideal defense and setting that is wonderful

Give it a few days before gutting because there will be no going back once done.

Guys, lets not forget Pierre has also cited real life concerns here, and is trying to get an agent on CCCC to step up and take over for him - he seems to be doing everything he can to avoid gutting midseason, and he should be commended for that.

Exactly and this is a GAME. Let the guy be and move on. So the league is a little less enjoyable because someone had to leave? Deal with it. Take care Pierre

PT - sorry to hear what is going on in RL most importantly and I trust you'll navigate it well even with how difficult it is now...on glb, well...I can only say to trust your gut and don't act in total emotion/frustration...if it is taking that much time I would suggest to anyone to back off...maybe let this season play out and hope somebody in that glb family of yours steps up, as I suspect will happen.
