I think your team just had the worst week to lose.

There were a few teams that won games maybe most werent expecting and had big jumps leapfrogging Edinburgh. Not really alot of room to move up.

Greenwood jumped ahead taking out the Mercs
Hattgenstein beat a good GRD team
Danes beat a solid ATOIAF


Inverness was the one team that lost but can you justify dropping them from 21 all the way to 27 for then to be below Edingurgh.

Considering the teams that played, where they were initially ranked and how they fared, I think the rankings are spot on for that section of the Power Poll.

I mean we cant think of it as a complete restructure after every game, what he does is move a team uip or down the poll each week. So you didnt really move down as you had teams around you jump up with impressive wins. Thus dropping Edinburgh.

I don't think that it was an unfair question, and I can tell you from experience that Miladmen does these sort of line college football polls, even if you lose to a very good team, you drop. But as long as you start winning you will jump to where you deserve to be by mid season. Hopefully that answered your question somewhat.

i wasn't directing my response specifically at you. just to everyone upset with their ranking thus far. i'm sure if my team dropped in kinda a weird manner i would be curious too. but just in general, i think we should all save the scrutiny till after like the 3rd or 4th game so that he actually has some data to go on.

Exactly right. I definitely was impressed with Edinburgh, but how can I justify them just KEEPING UP with a top team, when the 3 teams around them actually BEAT top teams? Really now.

I guess that would explain why Aberdeen, the #22 preseason team, gets knocked around quite handily by the #23 preseason team, Cardiff (now #20), yet Aberdeen stays at #22. Really now.

jeeeze loueeeze, is it too hard to accept that it's also contingent on what other teams did around you. it's not just what Cardiff did, or what Aberdeen did, it's what did the other teams do too, who dropped who rose, it's not as easy as it may look to throw one of these together...

Sorry that this has taken on a serious tone. I first asked the question just to give you a hard time about ranking us so low. Then I responded to your "reasoning" by pointing out the contradiction of that reasoning in how the rankings played out with Aberdeen. I added the "Really now" because you had ended your posting with "really now." It was meant to be a little ironic joke but I can see how looked like I was being a douche. Tone doesn't come across so clearly in typing.

So anyway, sorry that devolved into something like this. It wasn't my intention. I meant the Aberdeen mention to be good-natured ribbing and nothing more.
