Any comments?

I've had Bruiser for over a season now on my TE (before the prerequisite was 50) and he tends to run over people A LOT. He also has a high strength build as well.

What's his strength?

Ya, what is considered high STR? 50? 60? 70?

I'e been testing YAC Attack. Got ten in it. No increase in YAC. Last 2 games YAC actually went down. Strength is 55, carrying 40.

Also ten in ball hawk. Did not catch either bad throw. Catching 57.

If you are a receiving TE, just go with streaky, and maybe soft hands. Everything else sucks.

Back to a blocking TE. Any other thoughts?

I'm pretty sure I'm starting with Great Blocker (since that stayed +.5) But after that???? (level 54 so max of 15 per VA)

Candidates:
Workout Warrior - sure it got nerfed to .3%, but that still adds +3 onto a player with 68 in strength.
Outside Blocker - since a blocking TE really only blocks on running plays, the only works on pitches, but that's still 2% more on speed, agility, vision, blocking when that occurs.
Showboat Blocker - not sure how many pancakes your blocking TEs have been getting. Mine averaged 4.5/game (not counting 255-0 games) 5% added to the moral loss would be .75 more on the loss (pretty close to twice the moral loss of a normal pancake)
Big Heart - How many times could you trail by 14 in a game? Down by 14 would trigger 2% to all attributes until you are 3 or closer. That's just under 1/3 if maxed out to 15

Any other thoughts on Blocking TE VAs?

I wouldn't bother with Great Blocker or Workout Warrior. I had previously been thinking about going with Showboat Blocker, but I'm not so sure the morale system works well enough for it to have a big enough impact. Big Heart... pass.

What I'm focusing on is Outside Blocker and Redzone Freak. Probably Downfield Blocker once I've gotten those maxed. Goalline Blocker, maybe. It just seems kind of a waste since it only works in 5% of the field.

My question about Downfield Blocker is whether the poor schmuck has to be standing 3 yards downfield when engaged or if it fires after you push him from the LOS downfield 3 yards. Anyone? eta, the Outside Blocker description isn't clear either, it says "pitches and screens" but also says "outside running plays" or something like that. It's not so bueno if it only works on pitches and you eliminate screen plays from your playbook.

Downfield Blocker says that as long as you're blocking 3 yards past the line of scrimmage, it will work. The description is rather clear, not sure why there would be any confusion there.

As for Outside Blocker, ignore the first sentence. It's just a fluff sentence. The second part is what really tells you how it works, ie. on screen and pitch plays.

If you're correct on the Downfield, it's clearly better than Outside since it has a higher bonus and will fire much more often for high STR blocking TE who routinely push guys 3 yds no matter what the play call. Showboat (and Pancake SA) work counter to Downfield, since the former sits them on their ass and the latter holds them up. Clear as mud.

I went with Outside Blocker because it's specific on the bonuses you get. Downfield Blocker gives you 4% bonus to holding your block for each level, but since there's no way of telling how much % chance you have to hold that block to begin with, I find it hard to justify putting points in it.

I'm going with red zone freak for my receiving TE, I'm saying it works. Hard to tell because you don't get notification but watch this:

I swear it works

my TE isn't a blocker (only softcap in block/strength) but Outside Block make him freak.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=477594&pbp_id=9291511
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=477594&pbp_id=9292852

the bonus give a grood boost to abilities.
sure having block+strength over 2nd softcap will be better

(naturally it works if team coordinator wants pitch or screen pass)
