Also LOL @ cheating accusations.

Using a known exploit is cheating in my book, even if everyone is doing it, which is why we stopped once that became apparent. The fact that most of the rest of the league continued is a result of teams not trusting each other and caring more about winning than having fun...and its still cheating.

I just hope this season doesn't get broken by the same people with the same attitude to exploit weaknesses in the sim rather than in the other team.

Unfortunately, if that's what it takes to win, that's what you're going to get. If the other guy is willing to do whatever it takes to win and you aren't, you can't be upset when you lose. If being satisfied with yourself that you played in the spirit of the game and lost to somebody who didn't isn't enough for you, then taking the high road isn't for you.

True, but you can try to shame them into better behavior in the future.

And by the same logic, if you are going to cheat you can't really get upset when someone accuses you of it.

Just to be clear, Hazy, I'm not trying to single you out. That most teams cheated because they were too afraid to lose is simply my opinion on last season, and I think that sort of behavior, if it becomes the norm, will ruin this game. I think its important to keep saying it, because most people are too scared of the (usually biased) trolls to speak their mind on the subject...and I find the trolls amusing rather than upsetting.

How in the hell is it "cheating"?

I come up to Pro and find you still complaining about other people's offenses lol

Continued use of a known exploit = cheating. If you don't agree on that definition then we aren't going to agree on anything else on this subject.

Oh, and when I was complaining about your offense (which I'm sure flourished in season 8), I was actually wrong. We made a whole bunch of adjustments and had one of the best run defenses last season.

The problem is, that meant we were still allowing like 3.2 yards/carry, which is enough for the season 8 offense to work, which is why Bort is forced to completely redo the blocking model.

To call it "cheating" is ridiculous though.

In a sense, the 'cheating' is what motivated him to change it though. Think about it - how often does bort change something (especially to nerf offense) unless there's just a massive outcry about it? If you think about it, if it wasn't as widespread as it was last season - like, for example, if teams had been able to pass and thus chose to pass as well, rather than ONLY islamming - the same issue wouldn't even be close to getting addressed. At least because so many people exploited the big, gaping hole in the sim it will be (somewhat) looked at

I slam should be nerfed

line backer aggression
increased stamina effect

I mean really, I guess the Colts should have toned down the Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison combo. . . . . . it was way too efective. They should have been required to line up in the I formation about 20% of the time in order to bring equity to the game.

cheating is the wrong word because it's part of the game, it's an exploit is the sim not cheating though

It gets the point across, and many people do consider it cheating. At the least it is poor gamesmanship, which is also something to be complained about, so it really makes no difference.

and if the ability to run through 7 people at the LOS for a 3 yard gain isn't addressed (and it isn't explicitly addressed by any of those things), none of those will make a huge difference.

I slam or Strong I Slam? I actually wasn't a huge fan of the I Slam play last season. The strong I running game was much more effective for us.

We'll agree to disagree, either way MEM ain't going anywhere no matter what Bort does to the sim.

When one team can do it its not an exploit. When most teams can it is. Even an average rushing offense (ours, at least in this league) could pull off the season 8 offense.
