Yeah, going with less than 50 was a little too ambitious.

If our playoff streaks had to broken, at least it was by one of the top 2 teams in the entire game - you guys are a great organization. Good game, and good luck the rest of the way.
I didn't want to do it like this. I really didn't. But in the end, I couldn't count on anything from any opponent really. I had to expect the worst, you know? We're a team constantly mocked at for choking in the playoffs.
I'm sorry, and you won't be seeing any regular season shit like that.
I know you guys are angry at your run stopping ineffectiveness, I'd also respectfully ask you to take a deep breath step back, and consider your back 7 builds, and ask yourself why, when we play the Shockers, we can't do that...why Hughes gets like 5-6 pancakes...but he got 26 today. Stonewall got what, 15 or so?
I think I'm simply not going to bother reading the rest of this thread. I've got the Pounders game coming up and a new opponent to re-evaluate my plan for.
If any of you guys have an issue or want to open a respectful dialog on this matter, you know how to PM me. That is all. much respect to you guys. You guys have a deadly pass offense and the screen play was a stroke of genius Pain will have to factor in going forward.

islander, I absolutely will acknowledge that we will be able to cope better with the running game when we change our builds. We will finally get the opportunity to do so when season ticket sales come in and we have some boosts to spend - we didn't have that opportunity this season because we jumped the gun a little bit on spending those two things, and because we are in about the worst financial position of any team with 3 conference championships and 2 league championships in the whole game.
I also will say for the 47th time that I really can't blame you for doing what you did - in your position I would probably have done exactly the same thing.

awesome RJ. You know I like you guys. I just have been getting this weird feeling the past week or so that people seem to think that speed is still supposed to solve everything.
Not you guys necc but some of the other historically high end teams. We all agree some level of nerfing to running in general is needed...
anyway, moving on to the gym now. Hope the Pounders win

My money is on the offensive line blocking effectiveness getting nerfed, and RB stamina nerfs, because I think we have 100% agreement on the current state of stamina on backs.

LOL WW is playing a team I OC in the 2nd round for the 2nd straight year...I wonder if history will repeat itself. *Waits while Islander goes back to the AI and triple checks his end of game FG Inputs*
You won't get off that easily this time, my friend
Neither will you. *laughs maniacally*

Just wanted to say good game to the wolfpack - although you guys had shown a few different offensive looks in your last few games, we pretty much expected the offense we got, and knew we wouldn't be able to stop it anyway. At least now that our chem is 100 we are able to throw the ball, and I was happy to see us put up a fight.

The majority of that reason is lack of $$$ to be able to make EQ adjustments for this season. Since RJ took over SW, we have only had 4 home playoffs games even though we had won 3 straight Conf titles and 2 league Championships. When he took over in Season 6, the stadium wasnt in great shape and was just completed last season.
Anyone that has played us over these 4 season knows that we were a passing team and played with a fast defense. Unfortunately, Season 8 was the perfect storm and hurt us more than others. Without the financial means to change things over, we had to rely on just boosts and VAs. The Sure Tackler VA works wonders as you can tell.
Our O-line is also built to pass block so that didnt help us either but somehow RJ scratched and clawed enough to get us in the playoffs.
I do know that you all have a monkey on your back and that was the exact reason for my statement to RJ last night. I knew what was coming and still couldnt stop it.
The passing game isnt as broke as some want to make out....check Hugh's numbers over the last few weeks. Its an excuse people use to make themselves feel better about SI Slamming the sim to death.
Congrats on your win and good luck the rest of the way.

Funny, the Marauders have only had 2 home playoff games PERIOD. If we had the money to change equipment we probably would be a lot better.

Please let the record state that Cincy didn't make any major EQ adjustments for this season either. My MLB has ONE piece of EQ that is dedicated to tackling that I throw on when facing a power back, but I've had that since mid-S7. Through all the speed and agility trends, we've always built pretty balanced builds and it's really paid off over the last few seasons. Having two of the best coordinators in the game helps too.
...and no, the passing game isn't broke Sure, it's not what it used to be in recent seasons, but that's probably for the better. Fact is, a heavy running game (not necessarily a Strong I game either) is the safest gameplan this season.

My team has also always built balanced - we never went with the speed rules philosophy. I think that does make a difference, especially because it's easier for a balanced build to adjust to a nerf than one that has maxed out a certain area.

And we didn't build balanced - thats why the inability to change EQ was a bigger deal for us

GG Spicewood, that certainly was hard-fought. I said before the game that I hope you guys don't pass on us out of Strong I in particular, because we sold out to stop Bukka Moore (who is an underappreciated beast in his own right). Turns out we stopped neither Bukka nor the pass, and in the end counted on our offense to bail us out.
Re: the money and builds conversation, we came into this season in good financial shape but had to spend a lot of cash on strength and tackling gear (which we still could only take to +6 for the most part) -- so the new gear along with relatively balanced core builds put us in a position to win a lot of games at the price of emptying our war chest. That was a one-time mulligan. Now if something else (like vision or blocking or such) becomes overpowered we won't be able to respond.
