I've had my players on Las Vegas for a couple of seasons, and VB has been an extremely good owner. He's pretty much been a one man show as far as tactics, so I can understand his frustration...it's hard to justify the $ and time that's necessary for this game when you don't get the results.

Straight out, Bort's inability to create a game where a variety of well built players can excel is his biggest failure. Every time one type of build excels, he nerfs it...it's only a matter of time before all extreme builds are nerfed out and everybody is just OK to some varying degree.

I think alot of us season 1 GLB'ers have been living off of recycled flex for a few seasons. It's a very easy choice for most of us when Bort nerfs our player to retire him for $30 worth of flex as opposed to trying to fix his build, again, for whatever works the current season.

I'm not as down on GLB as VB is, but I definately was at one point, owning a team and doing it right...with a website...recruiting hard...doing tactics...IS alot of work. The logical choice for alot of people is to just not do it anymore and I definately understand that. There is something to be said for "sticking it out" and "never say die", but when someone makes the choice that their time is more valuable to them them trying to chase their tail here due to Bort's increasingly shitty sim, I can totally get with that.

Sorry to see the E's go. Even though we still have to play you guys and it'd make things a lot easier on us if you gutted, I hope you stick it out for the rest of the season.

I also agree with Vegas that this game is bordering on a scam. I know first hand of several people pondering a lawsuit and from what I have been told they have a legit case on several levels.

lol, there's no way they get a dime from a lawsuit. What josh said is pretty much spot on.

I'm starting to wear thin on the sim as well. Since we know there's game testers, there's no excuse for holes in the AI. I know the game is supposed to be in "beta" still, but come on. I don't have enough players to retire a high level guy to feed the rest of my guys, so I'm faced with either not buying anymore flex (and in turn, falling behind everyone else), or buying just enough to get by for the next season.

When he had the 2 for 1 flex sale, I vowed I'd never buy flex again, and I have no intentions of breaking that vow. I've been living off of retirement ever since. When that runs out, I'll be done...Unfortunately, I spent an embarrassingly large amount on the first 6 ssns. So, I'm set for a long time.

Frankly, I don't believe he gives a fuck about any of us that have been around since ssn 1...He till has fresh blood coming in and they don't know any better.

No point in appeasing the old people that have players near retirement. They are already locked in and wouldn't be buying flex anyway.

Part of me thinks Bort is making the sim so bad just so he has a good excuse to wipe everything. But that would be giving him too much credit.

I have said many, many times that upon the close of Season 10, this game will reboot.

I can't believe I am saying this but if given a choice between this seasons sim and a reboot I wouldn't hesitate.

Me neither.

Except for the fact that a reboot would still have the exact same problems built in, our players would just be too crappy to take advantage of them. Right?

I don't know but it has to be more interesting than what we have now.

I know we're not supposed to post private messages here but since it's my private message to Bort (I'm lucky enough to be white listed, but that still doesn't mean he'll ever read it, I've sent him stuff before that didn't get read for a month) I'm going to. Seeing so many people I respect posting their concerns in this thread leads me to believe that this game is seriously facing a make or break moment.

Bort,

First, I ask that you take the time to seriously read this thread and the concerns that are being stated by many of the more vocal, active, intelligent, and dedicated owners of the game in GLB:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=2299161&page=1

The only thing I want to add to what is stated in this thread is that I do have faith that you are trying to move this game in the right direction. My concern echos many others though in that you're going about it the incorrect way. When a game is so unbalanced that it creates the type of sims that we are having this season, something needs to be done about it quickly. It is a major issue and while you might not be ignoring it, your consumer base for the most part thinks you are.

I hope you'll read this, but I imagine you won't. You'd be well served to at least respond to these owners -- they have been a major reason you've been able to pursue your dream of running this company in the first place.

Hazy

A reboot and a re-design of the attribute system is the only thing that could get me to buy more flex. With how much this game has changed from the beginning, it is quite apparent that this game was nowhere near ready for Beta.

One of the suggestions that was not adopted, but should have been, was the "repeat plays get harder to run idea".

Basically, the defense learns, in-game, how to stop a play as it gets run ad infinitum. So if you run Strong I OT every play, it will work, but get progressively less successful.

This is just one of many common sense ideas that never get considered.

I'll never understand why this hasn't been implemented, or at least entertained by the admins.

Pretty much every suggestion I have made has been shut down. I need to just start jumping on the bandwagon of the really crappy suggestions and -1ing the good ones I guess.

Something like that... anything to help diversify and stabilize the offense. Playing whack-a-mole with nerfs just aint getting it done.

This would go a long way to fix a lot of the problems with the sim.

It just seems like such an absolute no brainer. The only reason I can think of that Bort hasn't done it ssns ago is because he doesn't think it would be fun to code.

A LOT of teams in various levels and regions would be up shit creek if this was adopted. It's not hard to run a handful of games, find out which plays are more powerful, then spam the shit out of them. Kinda takes the 'coordinating' out of offensive coordinator, ya know? I have a lot more respect for teams like DDL, Marblehead, West Scranton and Santiago that aren't living off exploits.

Anyone find it odd none of the big Evil Monkey trolls have popped in? I don't. It's not like they wouldn't have seen this thread in the last 3 hours it has been up.
