Well, the West is certainly louder in the forums and has interesting weekly rankings. The more the teams are talked about, the more peoples' respect for them grows. There are a lot of upsets and there's a lot of depth in the East, but folks in the West don't know or care because nobody's on here talking it up.
What seed were the Bullets in the East last season when they won the title? The East clearly has depth amongst playoff teams.
If you pitted the East, 1-8, matched up against the West, 1-8, IN ORDER (which week one games do NOT do), I don't know who would win. I don't think one conference should be favored by much if at all, and if you ran those sims 100 times I suspect the results would come out pretty close to even.
