O shit, I see a gator fan hating on Stafford. Just b/c he's a better QB than Tebow doesn't give you the right to trash him. I'm just kidding, yall have the NC's so we don't have much room to talk. Anyways, I think Stafford is worthy of a top 5 pick and not just because he IS the best QB in this class. He's got the arm, experience, and size to make it in the NFL. He makes some of the most incredible throws that I have ever seen. I'll give you that he makes his fair share of mistakes, but so did Matt Ryan and every other QB to take a snap. The thing about Stafford is he has a boat load of potential that is still untapped, he just needs a good QB coach once he gets in the NFL.

As far as Knowshon goes, he is one of my favorite players ever, but I doubt he will be the 1st RB taken. I think Beanie has had that spot tagged since the day he was born. He's got the hype train rolling and I think a team will jump at him in the top 15. With Knowshon's 40 time being a major disappointment, I can see him dropping to the 20+ range pretty easily. Knowshon is more quick than fast, but 4.6 isn't good at all. I think that there are a lot of good 2nd and 3rd round backs out there this season. If I had to chose a favorite it would probably be James Davis out of Clemson.

Lucky for Greene it isn't a sprint competion

Not too many straightline 40 yard dashes break out in the NFL; let alone one in shorts and a t-shirt.

Being the best QB in a class doesn't make you worthy of a top 5 pick and it's debateable whether he is actually the top QB. The funniest thing is that I am talking up Knowshon even though he is a Dawg because he's a great player. People ALWAYS overvalue arm strength which is not one of the most important things for a QB and I think the most telling things if you watch Stafford is his accuracy, decision making and consistency...or lack of it.

But hey don't listen to my opinion, just compare his college stats to the last few top QBs, hell Jamarcus Russell's college numbers are better than his.(Completion percentage is almost 5 points higher and his TD to int ratio is 52-22 compared to Stafford's 51-33 but hey Russell was thought of as very accurate passer and a great decision maker when coming out...oh wait)

Stafford may have plenty of arm and size but for the experience he has, he sure plays like an inexperienced QB. He's streay, inconsistent, overconfident at times and underconfident at other times, he forces the ball, he doesn't read the field well and makes a lot of bad decisions. If I am taking a QB in the top 5, you better bet I am taking one who has more than arm strength, I am looking for a QB who is NFL ready and a future franchise player...I am not looking for a QB who was painfully average in College and the only 2 things going for him are a lot of arm strength and "potential" but hey that's just me.

EDIT: Holy crap that is one big block of text. Better space it out.

Stafford could have used another year in college to get better. I don't think Sanchez is going to be a great NFL QB so if it's between the 2 I would have to go with Stafford.

Stafford has played a lot of very TOUGH games unlike Sanchez who plays on USC and gets to play maybe 3 teams a season that are worth a shit. Hell he blew it against Stanford last season and Oregon State this season. Stafford isn't a top 5 pick in normal scenarios. But with Detroit sitting there in dire need of a QB, I think they will take him. Unless they make a move on a FA QB this offseason.

Don't be talkin smack on my JaMarcus! Bitch! lol. He's been a bust so far but he showed signs of life towards the end of last season. We'll just have to see what they do next season. Don't throw him to the wolves just yet.

I think DET has to go LT or Defense with this pick, it's much more of a need and they are better off taking the best player. Orlovsky and Stanton both could develop into solid QBs and if they don't, Bradford is there next year. I actually like JaMarcus but I think he was taken too high and was unlucky to end up on Oak. I think with a solid system that can utilize his strengths, he could be a solid QB. But Oak has to find a good QB coach and has to keep a HC there for more than 2 seasons.

Agree that DET should get one of the LTs in the draft or Curry, LB,WF, and it sounds like that's where they are leaning. Simply put, it sounds like they are going to sign/draft the one that comes to the terms most favorable to the team.

Orlovsky is gone via FA (Kitna should be shortly as Culpepper redid his deal to be more cap friendly) and announced that it's the team's intent to start Culpepper this year. The new regime sounds intent on at least seeing what Stanton has in terms of being a long term solution. It sounds like they stand pat this year at QB or perhaps grab someone later on, outside of the first round.

I agree with your post about Russel needing a good QB Coach and a HC that will stay. Damn Al Davis and his BS attitude. If it wasn't for him running things we could have been atleast .500 or better by now.

Detroit needs to do something NOW to straighten the ship. It starts at QB, I honestly think they should sign a QB in FA not in the draft. But I really don't think they should be putting their chips on Bradford next year.... OK if Culpepper is staying it's the perfect time to get that young QB in training. But I agree, Curry out of Wake looks like a bad ass!

Bradford isn't ready for the pro's yet at all. He's got some serious work to do on being able to read D's and audible successfully. Did you see the Bowl game. Every damn time they stepped up to the line the coaches would tell him an audible and what to do. In my book that was cheating. TeBow Showed that as far as that goes he's far better on the field. Oklahoma needs to let Bradford make the calls and get him ready to go. They will be a force again next year and if they learn to play D they could be the champs.

Bradford is a lot more NFL ready then anyone in this class. His skills are much better than Stafford's and I think he'll be a great Pro but I do agree he was smart to go back to school. And BTW Florida has to be a favorite to repeat, that defense that held OU to 14 is back again.(all 11 starters plus 7 returning offensive starters although losing Harvin does hurt) Tebow is a great QB but his mechanics flat out suck, people underrate him as a passer but I do agree that going to the NFL will be a tough translation for him because he'll need time to sit and get his wacky release and arm motion ironed out.

BTW My favorite part of the NC was before it when all the OU fans were talking about how their offense was the greatest ever and no one could stop it. LOL I guess you underestimated the Gators elite Defense, Gator fans told them they haven't seen the speed and playmaking ability like our defense, but they didn't listen.

Point? Jason White won the Heisman and wasn't drafted.(granted he had injury problems, another example is Eric Crouch)
