A lot of the original OTR members have ties to Cincinnati, and/or are Cincinnati Reds fans... I used to live there, but currently reside in Indy. I also recruited a bunch of these guys/referred them to GLB from a Cincinnati Reds message board called RedsZone...
So, when I decided to get a team, I wanted to keep it with a Cincinnati, and Reds theme... After some brutal brainstorming, I came up with Over The Rhine (worst neighborhood in Cinci) Red (reds reference) Dots... It flows, and covers a couple of different angles at the same time... Pretty much genius.
Out comes Tooley's best feature, his modesty.

Well, I'd tell you that I'm not a fan of the city name 'Over the Rhine', but that would make me a hypocrite since I inherited from my predecessor a city (that he happens to live in) that also happens to sound like a perfume or a scented candle. The Red Dots part is clever though - would be awesome if Bort released a way for us to personalize our dots with a primary and secondary color....
