Unfortunately yes it is. I've posted numerous times about this deadline and if I give one team a second chance, I have to give it to all of them.

Lesson learned I hope and I hope it won't prevent Stewart from playing in future FPG tournaments as you all have a top team.

now im not in charge of scheduling these things, but are we 100% sure it was on us, for all I know we could have sent them a scrimmage proposal a long time ago and our opponent just never accepted.

and in the future I suggest pm'ing the owners about a deadline and not rely on people checking a forum that no one frequents.

thats why half your field had to forfeit, not everyone knew there was a deadline. I dont know if it was worth getting rid of some of the top teams in your tournament just for semantics.

I'm not pm'ing 128 owners. If you sign up for the tournament, it's your responsibility to follow through on scheduling, not mine. I provide the brackets, the prizes, and am here to guide teams along. That doesn't mean that I should have to go through and send 128 pm's to people. Most teams had no problem scheduling their matches and I'm not going to feel sorry for teams that can't read or didn't take the time to read. I wouldn't say half the field had to forfeit, we had 20 forfeitures out of 64 games or 31% - definitely not what I wanted though. I guess I'll have to put in big bold letters on next seasons sign up the rules and requirements for the tournament. The only way I can get a 128 team tournament done in 40 days is to move it quickly and I think I'm more than fair in the way I lay things out and in how much I post about deadlines coming up.

In regards to your first point, I've also stated (several times again) that if you've sent a challenge and it's not been accepted to post so in the forum. Simply doing that would have been enough -- it's then up to the other team.

I wish Stewart the best this season and hope you all will try again next season.

BDC sent a challenge on 2/20 but got forfeited. Sorry we won't be competing in this one. Good luck everyone!

When almost half the first round matches are forfeited, what you have is a lame tournament.

What a joke.

Riiiight.

It's funny that someone could put in so much time to draw up a 128 team tournament, then have the results pretty much tainted before the first round is over. No matter who wins, there's some pretty strong teams who didn't even play a single game, so you can't really say the tournament proved anything.

In public relations, when such a large portion of your audience fails to receive a message you're trying to put out, it's usually not a wise decision to place the blame on your audience. What we had was a failure to communicate effectively. Then instead of recognizing the error and attempting to correct it, blame those who were affected.

If I recall, a tournament is supposed to prove who has the best team. This tournament utterly failed at achieving that. As such, it's a joke.

You're like the bitch pageant director in Little Miss Sunshine.

while I won't take the hard stance of my compadre, I will say that it is unfortunate that when a team sends an offer on 2/20, it is rejected, and never replied to it is a little tough to find much fault.

BDC's fault for not posting in this forum I guess, but we had no issue getting our matches scheduled for the other 2 tournaments we are in. Our scheduled opponent for this one still has plenty of scrimmage slots available and could have sent an offer at any time if our original attempt was unsatisfactory in any way. Unfortunately we are out of scrimmage slots and can't send another at this time. I know our owner would have accepted anything.

Again, good luck everyone and I hope there are some good matchups in this bracket.

why didn't you post that it wasn't accepted? If you had done so, it would have been your opponent forfeiting. Let me send a message to your opponent to see why they did not accept your challenge - if they don't answer it then I'll have them forfeit.

I'm not above compromise although Patrick's response is completely uncalled for. I've more than made numerous posts/attempts in this forum to make certain teams had opportunities to schedule or post any problems that might have happened. The failure to communicate certainly wasn't on my end.

he gets a little more heated about this than I do. I'm not the owner of BDC, so I don't have the alert message (he may have deleted it at this point as well). I started a post in our forum with a link to this forum so we wouldn't forget. Our owner posted in that thread (on our BDC forum) on 2/20 (Friday) that he had just sent the offer. We've been getting all our scrims scheduled over the weekend and I went to check today to see which tourney games we were playing when and saw we had forfeited this one.

If we are out, we're out, but I know we at least made a cursory effort.....and had no problem with any other scrims we've ever been involved in.
