You're all acting like WSI is going to get 100% of the endorsement equipment, even though we have absolutely no indication how much fame weights things. You're also conveniently ignoring the fact that salaries play a role in fame. Pay your guys more and they get more famous. It's not pure field performance. And, even if it was, scrimmages and player-run tournaments don't count towards fame, so WSI isn't that far ahead of CCC, SoCal, BPN, or the Heat. Then there's the role awards play in fame. WSI doesn't own all the awards. Actually, I only count 3 first place awards for WSI.

Now, if it does turn out that they get 90% of the endorsements, then you'd have something to complain about. Right now it's all a tempest in a teakettle - pure imagination.

I'll readily admit -- I read a lot into what is said by people. Part of my trade (grad student in communication) dictates that I read way into the littlest of details that most ignore. So from how Bort phrased it, it sounded like fame would be a really good chance, but there's still a pity ticket type chance for other things. From how it sounds, it doesn't sound like you'll get 1 ticket per fame point you gained, but more like the guy that gets the top fame at his position will get 80 tickets, the second place 10, and everyone else 1 or something. When he said that fame had an influence but wasn't a guarantee, that is what made me think like this. Had he said "Fame will give you a bit more of a chance to get the item, but everyone else still has a chance", I'd think differently.

I really hope I'm wrong. Though I still think a single award per team that can be handed out would be a good idea, because Bort has always preached against the rich get richer idea, but that's mostly what this is. But if I'm wrong, I'll be the first person that is happy over that. I want to be wrong here. I want to be dead wrong. But with GLB's history of putting out ideas that are not very well tested in a massive setting like this, I worry. Remember how powerful some VAs were at the start of the season? Or how big of an effect some of the changes to stats had that were totally unexpected by Bort? That's why I worry here.

If fame's effect is rather small, then I can live with this. But if it is any more than a couple extra tickets in a hundred ticket lottery, I'll be upset since that gives teams that play guts a huge advantage in getting these things. Maybe they should hand 16 out to each conference instead of 16 total. That way, guts have no influence on this kind of stuff.

Yeah, I moved a bunch of the players I had on the Princes up to the Pros with dpell's team.

As for Buck - you guys just HAD to ruin my slight season improvement by intercepting me twice, didn't you? Until that last game, I had the highest QB rating of Buck's career by a couple points. It's amazing what a 10.7 will do to tank your season QB rating...




As for the endorsements thing, I should have edited that post a little before I let it go, heh. It came off sounding a lot more harsh than the issue really deserves.

I want to go on the record as being all in favor of any change that is likely to make Adam Avalanche and Denver LastDinosaur better. They really need the help, guys!

LOL! Well, in a sense they do deserve it. Those two are some monster players.

I'm glad we held Denver to like 3-4 sacks the game we played them in. I figured he'd get more than that.

If anyone has earned imaginary equipment, it is certainly those two.
