2) YOU claim DEs are worthless because they are held up all the time. I HAVE SHOWN you that is NOT the case. DEs can shed block if you build them right.

3) YOU claim DE owners should enjoy 4-6 sacks a game regardless. I REPLIED you're nuts.

It's really very simple. Don't try to draw strawman arguments as it only makes you look foolish.

Actually, i thought he meant a team should get 4-6 sacks. Which is reasonable when you consider that a WR or a RB's bench mark for a decent year in GLB is 2000 yards... so if there's is double of RL, why shouldn't ours?

And yeah, if i play a gutted team with a CPU guy 15 levels below me, i should get 20 sacks... put Demarcus ware in a NCAA dicision II game and see if he doesn't get 20...

And holding is 30 times stronger than the ability to Shed a block...why 30? i looked at my last 5 games and figured that i get held 30 times for every 1 that i slip out of (not counting times hwhere i'm too quick to hold in the first place).

And if you're going to blame other people's builds (or mine) i'll remind you that the details of my build are in this thread...as are yours...and my build destroys yours.

Yes Shelby, your build "destroys mine" in Speed and Agility. But my player "destroys" yours because I know how to wisely invest SPs elsewhere. The play by play shows that.

While you whine about your DE getting held up all the time. My DE has no problem applying pressure against equal and better OTs, and make tackles against HB running my way. Ever think of that?

It's really not that hard kids. There's more to a DE then strength, speed, and agility. Bort has hinted at this forever and you guys are not listening. Bort has rework the algorithm to prevent cookie-cutters. He know expect you to invest in Vision, Stamina, and a couple more SAs then FS and TV to succeed, and hint, you actually need a couple of SAs from run-stuffing side to help you pass-rush.

Is it reasonable for Bort to do that to DEs while he lets QB/HB run wild? Probably not. But I for one like to try out different things then just mindlessly dump resources into spd/agi

Bort didn't do this to inspire better builds. Most OTS have crap builds and where getting killed by the DE so he nerfed DE. Its pretty simple. I have Very High Speed, High Agility, Good STR and Vision (50+) I have good shed block and very good TV my stamina could be a tad higher but by no means is it low.

Now STR and BlCK OT stop almost any DE.
But as a DE we have to find this secret forumala amongst 5-6 attributes 5 SA'S that so far nobody has been able to show a DE that puts up decent stats againts equal or greater comp?

Not one tackle in 8 games?

I think that is the gripe that most people have. DE efficiency has been scaled back to NFL production (or worse) yet other positions still have inflated production. Against equal competition it seems like DEs are now best suited to blocking for the LBs.

i expect my well built DE to dominate shitty or overmatched OTs and do SOMETHING against well built OTs at the same level. the problem in the game is that there are way to many OCs that just want to send everyone out in a pass pattern like its madden and throw the ball all over the place. people that make defensive players have reacted to all the nerfs and changed their builds to be effective while OTs just kept pumping strength and blocking. now with the nerfs all those OTs have to do is softcap speed and agility and it wont matter how you build your DE. OTs didnt adjust their builds to what the DEs were doing, they just whined for a nerf.

More vision? i'm @ the 1st soft-cap...how much more would any sane DE invest?
More stamina? again, i'm @ the 1st soft cap...and always have decent energy after a game.
More confidence? Well...i'm only @ 40...but that's going to break blocks?
More tackling? i never miss tackles...so pointless...

Nope...those suggestion are no help to my build...so clearly GLB is broken.

Well, yes, and yes it takes brains to be good at chess. So if you want GLB DEs to be like paper-rock-scissors, by all means whine away.

I hope your better at chess then you are at GLB, because you completely suck here.

True. I didn't say it's perfect, but I don't think we should let immature children like Shelby-She-man or SignalWhineSqt to be the voice of DE causes. If anything they've done a good job convincing Bort his DE nerfing is correct.

Keep telling youself that. Self-esteem 101: keep telling yourself you're better than everyone else and you can convince yourself it is true.

You fail @ logic again BiggerBlue. Also, you're a rude name-caller whereas most everyone else is going out of their way to not be a jerk to you.

Shelby, imo, has along with others, demonstrated that they have enviable builds which have taken all aspects of a good DE into account.

If anything, this proves the nerf has totally overreached anything remotely resembling balance in GLB.

So the QB-WR track meet should continue in your opinion?

GLB is supposed to be like a chess match. when the OTs pump the hell out of Strength and Blocking the DEs responded with high Speed and Agility. People started comlaining about cookie cutter builds because the OTs never changed their builds and kept thinking of Strength as a main attribute. If a DE has 30 Strength you dont need 60+ Strength plus EQ to make sure you dont get bull rushed and when have you ever seen a bull rush anyway. If the OT builders would have made low Strength, high Blocking, Agility, and Speed OTs you would see Strength based DEs and thus the "chess match" would continue and match ups would reign in GLB instead of nerfs.

Not true bluto not true (about name-calling), I only return salvos, i don't create salvos.

For example: we disagree, when is the last time I am a "rude name-caller" to you? None. I rest my case. Thanks.

No, my opinion is strictly on DE and I recognize in many other posts that it's not far QB/HB seems to have a past. But I'm here to remind people you can still build your DE good and get rewards.

And no I don't think screaming like crazy we should get the same treatment as QB/HB will help our cause.

Well, you called me names. i never did it to you. i gave you the opportunity to apologize so we could continue a civil debate. you ignored it.

Things like that might be reasons why people have ganged up against your position (which i still happen to disagree with, since i know that my build is the shit).
