really? if some guy mugged you and shanked you a few times, would you take solace in the fact that your dots were probably better than his dots?
I'm not sure how that last post fits into the rest of this...I'm finding it difficult to figure out why you said that at all. We can only beat someone one way here...dots. We are ALL here to play with dots. You run your mouth, we ask that you to put up or shut up...and you do neither. ok im willing to give a serious reply to this.
First of all: yes we all play this game and the dots. if i didnt like the game i wouldnt still be playing it.
there is a difference between casually playing a game and getting too serious about it.
Randy spoiled some of the fun with his little stint about crying to bort about how there were gutted teams and there being a serious need for a relegation.
he never stopped to think about other teams/owners/gms other than himself/his.
did he ever think about how some people dont mind playing 1 or 2 gutted teams during the season as a means to have a little break from gameplanning and stuff? I am by the way not the first nor only person to mention this.
He shouldnt have intervened with how the relegations work and just have them do their thing.
Who cares about the name EE Pro gets in the rest of GLB because of a couple gutted teams? The casual players dont. I dont. most people dont. They are here to have fun with the dots, not to obsess over them.

"Casual Players" shouldn't be owners or GMs. It's not any more work for "Casual Players" if this were the case. Build your players to your liking, find a suitable home for him, win/lose some games, assign points, check out the forums from time to time....wash, rinse, repeat.
As far as Randy intervening this past season and not keeping other teams feelings or desires in mind...don't forget that Dberner wanted his team demoted. We, and several other owners, gms, and agents helped with that process.
There are LOTS of people that play this game that are obsessed. Even more so than you feel Randy is. You think the hundreds (maybe thousands) that write scrips, spreadsheets, and such for this game aren't obsessed? Those are the people that are dropping lots of money into this game and clearly care about their team/conference/league/regions reputation. Look, I'm not saying it's completely healthy to devote every waking hour to these dots, but hey, people do it in other games all the time. You name it, Madden, CoD, WoW....hell, really anything. There will ALWAYS be people that take something that you do and spend more time on it than you do.
Idunno, while I'm not, by any means, obsessed with this game, I do look forward to coming home every other day to see how my team did. I enjoy grabbing a pencil and pad of paper to write out a plan for my next few levels (yes, I realize there's a lil program out there for this) and such. However, I accept, as should you, that there will always be people here that take this a lot more seriously than you do.

This is cool, a real reply.
I understand this, but if you think Randy can dictate who to relegate and who not to, then so can you. If you dont like what he does, then you write to Bort. Discussing the state of the league is a trademark of Randy - agreed - but if you add constructively to the discussion, then I bet this league could get alot better.
About not gameplanning vs. cupcakes. I can understand this, but if you own a team - I didnt look to check if you did - then you decided this for yourself. I doubt Randy told you to buy a team in EE? Decisions have consequences, and if you dont think you can leave your AI and tacs untouched for one week without the skies falling down on your team, then maybe you are taking the game too serious. I know Raider puts in stuff for almost every game, but a serious gameplanning session, that happens maybe twice a season on our team. But this issue about time, this is an issue with the game. It is the game "dictating" you to spent time gameplanning. More and more gameplanning features are added, all adding to the need for an eye for details. How much is needed to keep the game fun is a fine line, and I think this is a discussion worht having. But stop fooling yourself, this has NOTHING to do with Randy.
The old saying has some truth to it - dont hate the player, hate the game.

Look at the players i have and the teams i gm.
Casual player doesnt mean i just check in to train my players and then log off again.
Dont think i dont spend a lot of time on GLB, i never said i didnt.
I also spend a fair amount of money on it.
GLB however isnt my life and its nice to have a 2 day off gameplanning break once in a while as im sure many gm's/owners will agree with (in a competitive league where gameplans can actually make a difference)
I look forward to my players lveling and my team doing well just as much as everybody. I however severely dislike if someone takes it upon himself to start a crusade against gutted/bad teams and take the fun out for a lot of people.
The misc arent the only ones saying that.
Personal feelings aside, randy shouldnt have pulled such a move on the other owners. He is overdoing it. He is the guy you went to school with that everybody hated because he was always organizing retarded events to please the teachers while you guys had other stuff to do.

Yes i own a team but it is a slowbuilding team. I actually do the gameplanning for Misctanbul.
The issue isnt about GLB itself, its about tact and randy not being the only owner in ee pro.
The issue is clearly with randy because he DIDNT let glb run the way it was supposed to run (ie gutted teams move down over time)
He went out of his way to contact bort without asking other owners for their opinion. We all pay for GLB, we should have an equal saying in this. Not just randy by himself. if anyone else wanted the same thing like randy, there would have been an automatic discussion in the forums. This didnt happen so i guess the other owners had no problems with it or didnt see it as big enough an issue to take action.

We agree, Randy shouldnt singlehandedly decide what should happen with EE pro. But I seriously dbout that he can do that. Besides, why keep gutted teams in a pro league - to me it just doesnt make sense.

Hey, I owned a team before Randy. We had a shit load of fun playing this game. Demonicangel was a crazy bastard but a lot of fun for eveyone,LOL. I pay to boost my playes, etc etc, we looked at Randy as having a rival which is fun, then it all turned to shit. Randy takes the fun right out of the game.
You crossed the line when you wanted teams demoted because YOU didn't think they were cometitive enough. That makes you an asshole Randy. Like I said before, if you want more competition then try another league, don't put down all the other teams and their owners because they don't have a roster of guys they knew before comingto GLB. Gut your team and start from scratch Randy, you pussy, you couldn't get a full roster of highlevel players unless they were multi accounts or you tried buying them. As most have said, you are not a people person.
Either way, make fun of me all you want Randy but I still stand by my opinion that you are an overcompetitve asshole.

EE Org is a bunch of CPUs and a few human players. That was the only team that via Randy and then Bort that got demoted. (Unless crap happened in the previous seasons).
Kutzy has a few players on Hella's ... I like the guy from AAA but to say the team AT THIS POINT IN TIME should be in the Pros is pretty silly. I can't speak for Kutzy, but it does seem like he didn't enjoy the Pro's because of Randy .... that doesn't change the fact that the team wasn't competitive at the time of demotion. The personal vendetta is assinine at this point.

It isnt up to Randy to decide what teams should be demoted. The sim already decides that at the end of every season.
He still went out of his way to get other teams demoted that while maybe unlikely, could have been competitive this season thanks to signing new players, OC, DC,...
Im back with the school analogy:
Randy is the guy you went to school with that took every class way too seriously. Its the guy that sits in the front row and turns around with an angry look on his face when someone in the back was talking.
You know you went to school with a guy like that and you probably hated him as much as everyone else did.

And to continue with the school analogy ...
This is college .. people pay money and take it serious. To have people in the same class that think it's a joke is degrading to those that care. Perhaps college isn't for you? If you were in HS and by law had to be there .. fine, make fun of the dork all you want.
Check back with me at seasons end .. maybe I'll hate Randy by then as the vocal minority do today. But I still see nothing wrong with the end result of his actions.

lol that analogy made me laugh, brought back funny memories
I don't really agree with it though. The person in that analogy is the ass kisser that has his nose up the ass of the teacher all the time. I don't really feel like Randy is kissing the admins (teachers) ass. He just wants to play in a more competitive.
I'd compare it more to the guy on the football team that rats out the other guys for being out drinking all night before the game.

that one could work too but i still like mine as well.
it doesnt have to be the asskisser, just the guy who takes everything too seriously/too far.
He would be shhushing everybody during art class and stuff and sit there paying attention like the teacher was explaining quantum mechanics. Its the guy that takes out all the fun for everybody.
I always had fun at school/college and i also had among the best grades. They are combinable you know.
