I think this is the point where Menamino should stop being gracious and give us a nice "KISS THE RINGS!" moment.

They will get a shot next year to prove otherwise...but currently it's hard to argue they can compete with the likes of: MEM, Boston Nighthawks, Yetis, Benitos, or West Scranton.

wepl can compete, my team is far from the best in wepl and we held our own vs the yetis and invaders. Blew a 17-0 lead on the yetis to lose, and gave up 35 points in one quarter vs the invaders to lose. Im sure several teams here can hang with them.

Yes, but until some of us begin beating the top teams with consistency we won't be given any respect as a league. I think Berlin has the team that can stay with any of them, it's up to the rest of us to raise our level of play....I think the redistribution of players from the teams that have gone CPU will bring some additional competitiveness, but it still falls to good game planning. My hats off to Berlin as they seem to be the best at it in season 6. Great Job Berlin!!

If we can just compete with other leagues in challenges, it should be sufficent
We should be evenly matched with most leagues
We should be evenly matched with most leagues

LOL...I bet West Scranton went into coast mode up 49-14 at halftime...also you avged less than 1 yard rushing against them.
In the Yetis game they threw 3 picks in the first quarter and you only put up 17 points. The rest of the game they preceded to hand you your ass.

Pointing out games you lost as a reason why your team deserves respect isn't a terribly effective strategy. Winning > losing. Same concept applies to leagues.

Very few teams can point at wins against Yetis though...
Same story for Benitos, Boston, HHW, MEM, Scranton etc.

23 points against west scranton was the most put on them at that point of the season and like 3rd most for the entire season and we actually did gameplan for them so they definately got their shit together and are a damn good team. But as for the yetis we didnt gameplan for and i was satisfied with the outcome, to put up almost 400 yards on their defense is good in my book and ill take it. They are another damn good team and basically tore our defense apart, but all in all we did well. Atleast we tried to put a name out there for WEPL. Next season as the owner maybe you should try to do the same...just a thought

Corey isn't claiming loses as a reason for respect. He is just saying teams shouldn't be scared to go out and try. You can always use it as a tool to see where you need to get better. Over time as your gonna get noticed if you start improving and maybe even wining some of those games against the top 50.
Btw what is up with the top 50 loading up with token gm's so people can get token trophy's. I've never seen a game were so many people are scared to accomplish anything on their own. Everyone wants everything handed to them.

We played the San Fran Fire, Benitos, Wolfpack, Prague Punishers, Chicago Mustangs...
3 of this "top 20" http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1631273
Where we went 1-2
at least most of our games were competitive affairs...
I could be like you and say "the Benitos were only up 7 going to the 4th qtr before they fucked us in the ass"

WELL take Yetis for example.
Owned by MiniHusk (Extremely busy off site, not active enough anymore to run the team, so requires additional help.)
HC: Mike Rogers (I do everything regarding tactics, but not recruitment contracts etc)
GMs: Tim Harper, Larssen, El Yoderino, theplaymaker14, dahobo, chrisavery72, Charlie Rice, BlackOps, Sady, TesT, EAtotheGLE, mlk2106, blevstone, Syd Sharp, rbetesta, dh12, tbd, Rhys_Pieces, captobvious, jdawg011, Chrebet80, MC_Hammer, EggplantWizard, jimmiejoe, Pimpwin, caponesgun, aspenwolf, canes30.
All the above GMs have accumulated over time, some were GMs in Seasons 1&2 (Before I joined) and helped set the foundations of the team, and have been kept as GMs as their hardwork is still bearing fruit.
Others help immensely in player builds and should be seen as positional coaches.
A few deal with Finances.
We have a Offensive and Defensive recruiter.
We made a GM of anyone who contributed more than just a player to the success of the team, if you went above and beyond, your a GM.
Its only because GLB doesnt have sufficient named positions or rewards for none GM players that it looks gimmicky.
Some teams are just dicks though.
