In Season 5, David Amazing played almost 100% of the time with a NT with a very high D-Line General and David Amazing got 200 sacks. (Sure, a lot of those sacks were against gutted teams, and you can say what you want about that, but how many other guys had 60 sacks in one game and even against those same teams?) This season, the NT is losing about half his playing time due to being underleveled, and David Amazing's sack numbers are down this year. The backup NT doesn't have nearly as high of a D-Line General.

Not saying that it's for sure that D-Line General was the thing that was helping David Amazing the most, but it does make one think.

and now the question on my mind is, if the NT needs high confidence in order to "trigger" the d-line general... what's your take on that?

You know what, NM everything that David Amazing said. The backup NT's DLG is higher than David Amazing thought LOL. It IS lower than the starter's though. Maybe it makes a difference. David Amazing has no clue whether confidence affects that.
