PS: why don't you have the Rebel Yell and GSA wins for the Marauders?

If scrimmage games don't count for anything, then there is ABSOLUTELY no way to compare any 2 teams not in the same league.

ding ding ding!

exactly....this is ALL speculative

Just like BCS standings are speculative, just like stock prices are speculative, just like anything is speculative. That doesn't mean it can't be fun doing and discussing.

Correct. By just breezing the topic I misunderstood what was being debated. I have no problem with your or anyone else's ranking system.

Updated to reflect the final regular season standings.

I will make another post-playoffs rankings and would like to get a top 15 vote from each of the top 50 owners for that.

I'll start a new thread for that one.

You really think there is that much difference between the top 4 in the USA Pro West and the next 4?

I think it's just that it's impossible to rank all the teams in GLB. Hell, GB is ranked 56 and, in the last 2 seasons, we've beaten every team from USA AAA#2 East that's listed above us and 4 of the USA Pro teams. Still, with having 6 losses, how can we be ranked higher? For what it's worth, if I was into gambling (and I'm not), I'd be happy to play every team above us, put $100 on each game and I have no doubt what so ever that I'd make some serious $$$$$ off the deal (that we'd win far more than we'd lose). That said, I understand how he can't put us much higher.

That was actually going to be my next point,

Which teams moved up from AAA last year?

South Bay (0 AAA ranked above)
Richmond (6 AAA ranked above)
Doomsday (6 AAA ranked above)
Green Bay (9 AAA ranked above)

Since they moved up, there is no way 6 and 9 AAA teams should be ranked above them. I could see 2-4, but 9? That means that 9 teams "should" be up instead of Green Bay? I think not!

before their end of season losses, GB was up near #20.

here's another way you can look at it: the sim was much different last year. not as much depth was needed and QB pump fake was on roids. I'm not saying that was GB, but if they weren't a very deep team and relied on pump fake to win, then it makes complete sense that many AAA teams could be ahead of them.

Plus, we all know by now that some of these teams are so close that a game would basically be a coin flip. Maybe GB won the coin flip in the playoffs last year. It doesn't mean they would win that same coin flip this year.

Galkuris just FYI becuase I know you don't know a ton about the lower level leagues, but WPL (formerly known as USA AAA2) is infinitely greater than USA AAA1. There's really no comparison. Mixing them together makes as much sense as mixing together Canadia BBB #48.2 and USA Pro.

#45 Beans just beat #29 Dryden in OT

I would consider our 13-3 teams to be very equal.

They happened to beat us in the regular season though so I had to rank them higher.

16 spots = nothing. In fact, the Beans were in the 50's a few days ago before several teams dropped.

There are ALOT more teams in GLB than college football if you are using that as a reference.

It seems that there is:

#12 Bullies vs #44 Marauders - http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=204202 (65-26) Bullies win

LOL...we're a run 1st team that can pass and have as good or better depth as anyone. As I said, I'm sure not complaining in the least and have no problem where you put us at all. I understand why you did. Just pointing out a couple flaws in what you wrote about us, is all.

Edit: FYI, Boston is a better team than us, period, end of story, but the score of our game with them isn't any indication of how much better they are. I choose to go down swinging, believing we'd either win (about a 20% chance, by my estimation) or get blown out (80% chance). On the flip side, if we'd played our normal ball control against them, I'd give them a 90-95% chance of winning by between 3-14 points. I played the slightly better odds, not caring how bad we lost, since a loss is a loss is a loss, no matter what the score.
