Its hard to build a team with guys you dont know. Its easier to stay in the game if your around guys you get along with. Fox News did not want to keep spening the $200 a month to keep every player on the team and myself and a few guys on my team didnt want to spend the money either. Quick and easy solution was to merge. This kept it much more interesting to us becuase we are around people we get along with and it was much easier on our wallets. Did it hurt some competition? Yes, but when people bitch like a 3 month old baby about it, does not make people regret their decisions.
Eventually things will even out, but until then people need to think of themselves first and everyone else secondary. Im sorry Randy does not agree with me, but then again, I dont care. My money and my time is just that, Mine. I will do what I want with it. I dont know personally any of the people on my team, but 90% of us are students or graduates of Texas A&M, we all come from a website and I believe I have replaced a grand total of 4 people through 5 Seasons. K(my choice),WR(porky),WR(my choice),DT&DE(both ironhead) and well I think thats it .. oh yeah ,QB(wessimo),QB(my choice). So yes, I dont really know what its like to build a team from scratch. I think 80% of my team has never played a single snap on any other team. Many of them have their own teams now and still stick with me, because Im a good, fair and communicative owner who has always done everything I could for my players and they know that. Its not easy to keep talent when you have numerous single player agents who might get bored, but I have because I touch base with each of them once a week even if they arent chatting on the forums.
But certainly its hard to invest 200$ a month into a game, Im not critisizing that choice, what Im saying is that when the teams who caused there to be gutting are then complaining how crappy the league is, its a bit of a slap in the face. If you made a financial choice to retire some players and not have to boost them anymore and use the money from those retired players to boost this season, thats cool, I understand, I wouldnt pay 200$ a month for this either. But then to come back and laugh about how bad the league is because you offer a home to people who gut from teams that Pro is stuck with, thats not right. And that is what I was complaining about, its not right to organize a gut, offer places for more people to gut and then complain that the league sucks because its full of gut jobs. And it seems that only people who were part of gut jobs were doing it, which isnt right.
Thats about it.
I wasnt planning on playing after this season myself unless something really drastic happens. I had already told my wife that I was done after this season. But if we get a full reorganization, that might keep my interest for a season or two more and make it worth my while and Im only paying about 20$ a month for 7 players (mostly OL thats why
)
Also thanks for the support Sid, I just try to do what I can to keep it interesting around here because I have been around here since Day 1 (okay actually Day 18 or so of S1) and I have no interest in any other leagues except for this one.
. They're not quite there level wise yet. We already have one or two of those teams. They're 2-3 seasons of heavy recruiting from pros, especially if they bring up more talented teams to AAA.
