Power backs were not nerfed, but break tackles were. I knew a FB that has 55 strength and 33 speed who had 76 broken tackles in an AA league that has been around since season 1. After week 12, the broken tackles were few and far between. He had 19 broken tackles in a game.
You're splitting hairs. Most of us who had very successful powerbacks had absurdly high strength, good SA's, and moderate speed and agility. At that time we were the definition of "powerback." I've said before that the effect strength has on breaking tackles was nerfed, it was brought down as a more equal part to other components that go into the fomula, so that's why I've been saying powerbacks were nerfed. Basically, the nerf caused the definition of the term to change.

But yeah, I agree, I think if you substitute strength for mass that's pretty accurate. Since Bort's said that the effect size has on the game is very minute I'm more inclined to think that strength is the substitute.
