No WL and FAR more teams are on an even ground to recruit and stay active in the forums since it was so spread.

WL drowned the pro leagues. But what you are talking about was already happening to AAA through B leagues for a long long time. The second a plateau level was reached everyone wanted to play in the pro leagues and the rest of the leagues were becoming more trash every season.

The only real thing WL killed for me was regional pride and the tournaments. It just brought so little cares to those aspects of the game that made the game worth talking about in the forums.

The World League unquestionably saved GLB. It gave the elite the opportunity to compete against each other regularly instead of only a couple of times per season, it gave the non-elite something to strive for, and it gave the non-elite a chance to play other people at their level instead of having their brains beat in by teams out of their league. And as for recruiting, that's a problem with you, not the WL. When I was in CPL I was able to get commitments from guys who had WL offers.

Here is a game that I ran with the "add player to a pick-up game" option.

It is a great feature to see more of your bot and in situations where you have no idea what kind of AI is going to run.

ya mostly myself or corndog in the vet league. both undefeated.

tt's team won the first rookie season and i think is doing good in sophmore too though the ladder is weird with both soph and vet teams together right now so i dont know off hand if hes the top soph or not. i currently am #1 and corndog 2 in the ladder.

Romo's team is right behind mine in the ladder and I'm sitting in first in the Bush League standings. I had a loss earlier in the season, but am otherwise undefeated except in games versus players at plateau.

The ladder is funky in the lower league right now because if you win enough games, there are no teams in "Seasoned" (the level after Sophomore), so they match you up with Veteran teams. I've come close to beating a vet team, but the sheer # of SP and AP between the two makes it impossible.

Once beta starts, Sophomore teams won't be matched against Vet teams in the ladder and would only play teams above their level if they were good and the other team was bad. I think it will work out, but in the end your ladder rank needs to be compared only to the teams in your own age group.

i do like the way the ladder works though it would be nice to have the option to narrow down between age groups. didnt think i would like how the ladder is but it actually is a fun element to the game. reminds me of the traveling trophy back in the day.

which is what everyone thought they wanted, until everyone got burned out and led to the apathetic levels most veterans are at right now

probably should just set up glb1 like glb2 is set up though people would likely complain about having to set an ai up for 2 quality teams each day. although i dont really know of any teams that go through such work anymore?

might even be worth considering a join a league option for glb1 with 10 teams per league with the shortage of players on the horizon. that way at least you will still have full leagues of players and the ladder can sort out champion. though i know some diehards would be sad about not getting that elusive wl title.
