See, this is why people hate USA Pro. The coaches have experienced getting beat in the playoffs by late boosters. The coaches try to share their experience. People get mad and say they don't make sense. USA Pro coaches get frustrated and give up on helping newer players because they are tired of hearing the same tired and stupid arguments over and over despite the fact that they've been through it and dealt with late boosting causing them a playoff game. USA Pro coaches say fuck it do whatever, dumbasses. Some people then consider USA Pro coaches/players/users to be douchebags.

I don't know any thing about people hating Pro league coaches. I do know that when I read a theory and the statistics supporting it and then see that an entire aspect of the game is left out in the calculations then I will question it's soundness. You guys can continue to be defensive about it and claim we're all dumb for not just accepting it as gospel but until I see the numbers (like a full season comparison between 2 players including game XP and playing time) then I will remain skeptical. The Legends were early boosters and we won our league to make it into the pro league. Not proof that early boosting is better though. Just a fact that is the complete opposite of your argument about late boosters winning in the playoffs.

Without doing proper scientific research using the scientific method, it should make realistic sense that late season boosting would give a player the highest level possible, but I do believe that it is only relevant during the players rookie season. Once you get into his second season and being a level 14+ that it doesn't matter as much or help as much.

Also a lot of stuff went out the window when they implemented the new energy and amount of plays required to gain XP. The new energy system forces depth and doesn't allow teams to play 1 player per position for an entire game and all season. The days of a player playing 120 plays and still being 100% for next game are gone.

It's all a matter of interpretation and end result desired. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so go easy kiddies.

So the mods are not only cheaters, they're huge D-bags too? That's great to know. Bort and DD are the only respectable ones I've seen as of yet.

XP wise? Megan Raine, one of the few (or only) level 16 unboosted players this season. The difference is pretty immense. I've seen some players start on Day 0 of Season 1, boosted early both seasons and are only level 16. So that's already 3 levels difference.

Team-wise? Chicago Mustangs, who won last season by boosting late.

lets not distort reality. by using the boost late strategy the chicago mustang were fated to be out of the playofs but won last season by trading in players from their farm team

LOL
They were in the playoffs before they traded in.

Dark Lotus Juggernauts also boosted late (except for a couple of guys) and finished with the #2 seed.

The Philly Pushovers boosted late (mostly... one of their guys had the most XP at the end of S1 because he boosted late) and finished with the #1 seed.

Not to disrupt the Alpha/Noob bash-off, but congrats Sam on the win today. We (Oakland) hoped to give you a run and though we're disappointed with the 23-13 loss, I think we'll be able to take some positive things from it and keep improving. Good luck the rest of the way.

since when does 9-7 clinch a playoff berth? if i remember correctly there was a 9-7 team that didn't get in. the mustang were 4-7 before they started pulling stupid shit. either way you just confirmed the mustang wouldn't have won anything if they didn't start pulling those ridiculous trades with their farm team.

Trust me, the Mustangs didn't trade the players until the end of the season. I was on Tim's farm team (but wasn't traded).

They had a cupcake set of games at the end of the season, so that's why they went on a tear at the end.

Can't comment about the hate for the alphas, but in everythng else: it doesn't get old because it's irritating to see a mod break the rules, get punished, break the rules again, and then when it's brought up on the boards see them get defended fervently by mainly the other mods.

Makes it very hard to trust the people in charge outside of Bort and DD.

Consider me a newbie to a 26-page thread and please remind me what rules were broken twice now? Seriously, because I have no idea WTF is going on.

The Mustangs traded their players after the final regular season game, when they were already in the playoffs.

They got lucky and snuck in the playoffs because Mozilla went on a four-game losing streak and Chicago had the points tie-breakers over the teams in front of them. That's why they ended up as a 6 seed.

Bort and DD did select the mods, you know. So if you trust Bort and DD, you should trust their decisions in appointments.
