This is just tired thinking, no different than whataboutisms. No one is crying or whining. You just don't like that this is tainting your reputation so resort to "what about this person cheating" or insulting people's concerns as them whining.

Doubling down on it. That's a bold strategy cotton, I'm sure this will all go away that way.

I don't have an issue with someone having a multi or two, especially if this is true. It's the people who have dozens that are the problem.

Have to say it, wish we had a GLB equivalent for baseball and/hockey. Is there such things?

I'm trying to think of the baseball one that GLB destroyed. Way back in like season 4 or 5 some guy made a baseball one, shared it on GLB and went out to mow his lawn and made thousands of dollars and the site was crashed. It wasn't bad but I think he got his bag and quit.

I also remember a hockey one. Not quite GLB but it was kind of cool. www.metroho.com

I fully understand that link is questionable at best but I did verify it's still working lol. It's why it's so easy for me to remember.

Would have been funnier if both teams punted every down until someone had the ball with 1 second left in OT and threw an unguarded hail mary for the win. js

I think it means a lot more to you than you're making it out to be. I also think your group worked their ass off so it's not just "an internet game". Maybe I'm wrong.

I agree on all points except why the hell do we have to multi to dodge costs if it isn’t about money. I can hardly afford to buy my kids every damn thing they want in the world with this budget.

He really made millions? Fuckin hell. I heard the guy that invented the pet rock made a million dollars too. Some people just get all the breaks.

What did a full team cost pre-dotpocalypse? Like $5k (maybe less with discounts but most people didn't build entire teams back then).

Then consider that there were 32 teams per league. So that's $160k per plateau league that was filled.

Then consider the insane teams and leagues that existed in GLB's prime. Pro + 2x AAA + 4x AA + 8x A = 15 leagues just under USA. 15 x 160k is $2.4m just for the USA pyramid before adding in the 7 other regions.

Then consider that the games prime lasted longer than 1 player plateau cycle and was still very strong in the 20's and 30's.

These are big big numbers!

If you want any multi's just let me know I was given 6 but only used 1 since it's such a pita to log into other accounts for me

I wouldn't really say it was abandoned 17 years ago, theres a bunch of stuff in the changelog from a few years ago. Having a tech platform isn't just releasing code and then leaving it forever, it needs constant maintenance. Servers, updating frameworks, compliance. This is super misleading. Bort might not be actively releasing big features but saying he abandoned the game is disingenuous.

I think I saw someone post a spreadsheet of active players and there was like 2.5k in there right? This is a very engaged, dedicated userbase I bet the conversion rates of players who purchase flex is very high, and its cyclical because of the nature of how seasons work, this game makes money still, trust me.

Saying the owner of this game is fine with people not buying flex is insane, its just not worth the cost to stop backdoor accounts. It would probably be a very big update to the Auth system to check for IP addresses, which isn't bulletproof with how easy to access VPNs are right now.

At the end of the day if you like this game, and get enjoyment, you should be purchasing flex points and not using multi accounts. For those of us who might not be able to afford the 50 bucks or so every month, they can still enjoy using free slots and maybe 1-2 non glamour positions.

The stuff a few years ago was when the servers lit on fire, so Bort did come back for 6mo or so and try to do right by the user base, which was cool. He finally took user suggestions that at the time had existed in silence for 10+ years to shorten the player build cycle.

He however notably did not make any sim changes, only refreshing the player build cycle and league structure.

If everyone who uses multi's stopped doing so, this game would cease to exist. It's like the person who suggested every person can own a max of 1 team only. Way too lategame for that.

If you enjoy buying flex and building tons of dots, you do you. Enjoy. I personally asked Bort if there was a go-fund-me price they community could raise that would get him to do a sim update. He replied it's not about the money so there is no amount, but would consider an update if the community had a consensus if what they want (and Bort ghosted soon after anyhow).

I just wanna be rich, did anyone ever patent the Jump to Conclusions game? I have another account, but it’s a secret that no one can ever know. Because secretly I’m probably the best OC/DC/Lover GLB has ever known.
