GG Alpine Really tough D battle!

I have been away with work all week and only have a minute online so I can't really comment on the game since I haven't gotten a chance to watch it, but what I can say is congrats and that you guys are far better than us.

And jrry pls stop whining about the screen. It's not like your DL isn't overpowered. Good teams play to their strengths. Your strength is your lines, our strength is not just running the screen but also limiting the screen with a base D better than just about anyone in glb.

Actually, I've been trying to help Bort find solutions to fix that overpowered DL exploit and the screen passes because neither are realistic and both have to be fixed but obviously 2 teams running the screen, which is a misdirection play to catch the defense off guard, 29 times combined in a game points to the play not being overpowered. Sadly, you are right, good teams play to their strengths especially if they are exploits, I wish teams could try not to do it(I'm talking to MM too) but most teams figure, if they don't do it, someone will beat them with it.

I was just about to use that very play to say the same thing

You all were trying to shoot the DE through the gap a bunch against us, but that doesn't really work against our guys.

EDIT: Which is why I don't think it's an "exploit", you can stop it.

I like ya Track but you didn't stop it. Just look at the first few passes, both DEs went right through the line and forced the QB to quick throw it. The only time I saw KKAR stopping it was when MM only rushed 2 and dropped the LDE into coverage which really isn't the exploit but maybe I missed something? Do you have any replays of KKAR stopping the 4 DL pinch?

meh...sure a couple different tactics could have held it somewhat in check when we played MM...same with WW...but early on in the season i expected different results with Bort's so called "fix". Its still a broken cheat...but oh well...a lot of teams i see use it.

Well, just glancing back, we only got sacked twice by MM's unbelievable D-line, and neither were the D-line pinch. How many times did they run it? I could be wrong, and I don't really watch the O that closely, but I didn't really remember it standing out- they got pressure on us lining up the DEs "normally" too.

It's not a cheat. How is your LG's being unable to hold a pass block for more than 0.5 seconds a cheat?

It's much less of a "cheat" than all the goddamn substitutions offenses can do that defenses are utterly unable to respond to in anyway. HBs that ONLY run inside or outside or catch screen passes?

Please.

This game isn't football. The scrunched up D-line is the only method for forcing mismatches on the line in obvious passing downs. The defensive line guys DO get engaged.

So 2 wrongs obviously make a right?

Check the next play too, there weren't a lot of sacks but it forced Pierce to throw it quickly.

I don't think we are better. I think we are a good match up and it can go either way anytime we play!

Neither is wrong. If you think changing things overall to push this game to a closer sim of real football is a worthy goal, have at it. You won't get there, though. Ultimately, there's a couple giant, glaring, 800 lb gorillas in the game mechanics room that will stop you. The gorillas are named "Human Intervention" and "Spatial adaptation" - Game doesn't have the first one, and is terrible at the 2nd.

But villifying people for using perfectly legal game mechanics in the most productive way possible is simply stupid, no matter your purpose. It's doing these kinds of things that ultimately help the game - some people do it while others try to stop it, with the prize a little .jpg and some internet e-glory. The meta-game evolves.

And, by the way, if it's ultimately helping by running a fundamentally bad game into the ground, so be it!
