It was an exhibition game - if it happens in a regular season game that might be different

Only 2 games into the season, and 1 against a crap team - data from this season is suspect at best so far and doesn't support either side of the argument yet

I agree. Watching scrims for us this season is going to be useless because we really are just starting to work with it. A lot with the AI still needs to change.

They don't count towards our main goal and are just practice for the real deal. Are you trolling? I guess I don't understand the purpose of your post as it does not contribute one bit to this conversation.

Honestly, it looked like your defense was abysmal in that game.
I'd be more worried about that, just looking at that game.

If you can figure out how to mix in some passing to prevent CB blitzes from taking away the outside rush will be key.

Of course, at this point, you have the threat of using the rushing QB offense one game and switching to a more traditional offense in any given game. For example, a good DC would set up a defense to stop Falco and you guys switch back to your normal O and catch them off guard.

I believe that this implies that their team is even capable of presenting a passing threat now, tbh.
Their WRs are built to not catch.
Their QB can't even throw.
Their OL is built to be maulers and not pass block effectively.

They need to catch them off guard to even have a chance to be able to pass semi-effectively, IMO.

We are playing around with a lot of things on defense as well. Not really a big deal imo, just a scrim. We actually just switched to the 3-4 full time as well...but we can leave that conversation for another thread. Please stay on topic.

I doubt they completely converted everyone over

If they have 10 OL, 5 are good for run blocking, 5 for pass blocking - I would have to think they left themselves some flexibility there

You really think that they would have half of their OL dedicated to pass blocking when they never pass?
Oh no, this is a true case of throwing all your eggs in one basket, tbh.

And I'm all for dedicating teams towards one thing.
Heck, the game, as it currently stands, will let you run the same play over and over and over again.
If it works then it works. No reason to run any other plays.

I just haven't seen any evidence to support that a QB runs better than a RB.
That means that maybe you should run with RBs and not with QBs.
I wouldn't argue against them being run-focused, tbh.

This, as far as I'm concerned, should only be an issue of whether it is worth running with QBs.

While the starters have probably spent the last 2 seasons working on strength (with maybe a little blocking), I don't think they are at an extreme disadvantage in this regard. I'm sure they'd still manage to haul in their share of catches if need be.

The point about the QB might be valid though; although, I doubt he's downright terrible at passing.

lol - oh no, I sincerely believe they built them to not catch the ball!!
Think about it. It's all part of the "mental warfare" and that would be the last thing their opponents will suspect!

Hmm...

If this ends up working out for the Kai (the zero passing thing)....

Then a shit load of teams will adapt that method.

Just another reason why passing needs to be a tad bit more effective.
