Frankly, this game should be a LOT more successful than it is. Look at how many copies of Madden are sold every year, and that's the same shitty game every year.
If they're going to try and go into the tablet/phone market space, they seriously need to take a step back, look at micro transaction standard in the industry, and modify their business model.
The first thing that comes to mind is that you have to be able to earn flex slowly over time. Yeah, I get it, free players were added to counter the need for that, but it's missing the point. You need to reward players to stay and keep playing so they don't leave. With decaying flex upon retirement, they basically punish players the longer they around, as your flex dwindles and goes away.
Free players are also necessary, because, well, if a person doesn't have flex, they're more likely to quit than to buy more. And if they quit, then there's no income from them. At least if they're around playing, there's a _chance_ they'll pay.
Things like team ownership should be where most of the money is made, because it's optional, super enticing, and generally appealing to veterans (who are more likely to spend money.) Stuff like custom stadium designs, fields, team logos, should all cost money.
