If the only guy who wrote the original code is no longer around it "must" die.

At what point does GLB blame itself. Change after change was implemented that the masses was against. Changes that the userbase was almost exclusively in favor of were ignored and ignored till half the userbase was gone. The game was exciting and lively and you dummies killed it. Hell we are forced to play a game where the combined TD/INT ratio of the top 5 World league passers is 45/62. The game used to be exciting and you nerfed it to hell, then are baffled at the lack of userbase.

Come play our new game which is no where as near as fun as our old game that we refuse to make any changes to.

Again to summarize you make the game unplayable and then wonder why the userbase stops playing.

That's what the people that designed this game don't realize.

I don't think anyone here is 'baffled' or 'wondering' about this. Also, there are big changes to league structures coming at the end of the current season.

It beats being mad about what you've had.

Because there's no middle ground between constant fundamental changes and no changes whatsoever

It's kind of the definition of insanity to think that it's going to usher in a golden age, though. If it didn't work for five years, it's kind of silly to think it might work this time.

If you want a different sim to play with, check out GLB2. It has an entirely different sim than GLB Classic.

Still waiting to see a post by an admin on GLB2 encouraging their members to check out GLB Classic

I haven't seen folks over there clamoring for things that only Classic can provide, but if it sounded like they'd like it, I don't think any of us would have a problem referring them back here. If people over on GLB2 were complaining that that game is too active and too easy to jump into, or that players develop too quickly, or that there are too many sim changes, or that it's too easy to tell what their players are doing in replays, or that the overall tone in the forums is too positive, it might make sense to refer them to GLB Classic. That just doesn't seem to come up very often...

It's because you and the 5 GLBers that play that game shit all over the REAL GLB in the 2.0 forums. Tens of new users have been lost because of you.

I am waiting until next season to see the new changes in the league structure, that will be more exciting to see that and how it is drawn up but honestly this is probably something that should of already happened last season or sooner.
(not bitching about it here just stating my opinion)

As far as expediting the build process that would be very interesting if that happens and would look forward to it. Might not be the savior but would bring in some more interest with some agents.

It's kind of the definition of insanity to think that it's going to usher in a golden age, though. If it didn't work for five years, it's kind of silly to think it might work this time.

Again, I don't think everyone here wants huge sim changes just some tweaks once in a while.
Look at it this way, if say you do come out with insta dots then make some tweaks at least then we would be able to build to the sim changes instead of having to wait 1-1/2 years to conform to any changes.

It was mention in this thread about reducing the size of the teams, that might not be a bad idea neither, wouldn't have to happen all in one season spread it out over a few seasons.

I actually kind of liked how stamina worked when the game first came out. Can't recall how it worked all together but back then your player would loose his stamina and would not regain it back to 100 before the next game, it would have variables as to how the player would regain his stamina. Anyone remember that?

Tried glb2 but didn't get my interest even though I will admit I probably didn't give it enough time but again I don't mind the sim just do something to keep it interesting instead of letting it go stagnant.

Jeez, you guys, so tough and then all of a sudden, so sensitive! I didn't mean to offend anyone's sensibilities, just trying to point out that we don't bring up other games for no reason. If it sounds like GLB2 offers something someone's asking for here, we'll remind them it's there. If someone on GLB2 is asking for something that GLB Classic has to offer, we'll remind them it's here.

2.0 was to merely be a device to bring new people here. You botched it miserably.

Although the result is probably the same as you've said, I think 2.0 was an attempt to get everyone from glb classic. Why else create a competing game for a similar market share?
