Your talking like you won something. Stop. I don't think any disrespect is meant or implied. First NJB game was meaningless (at least to us). It had no impact on who we'd play in the playoffs as we had at least a 2nd or 3rd seed locked up. We ran with our basic season 16 AI, and much like the HHWC game we got burned by a crazy turnover fest.
The second game was the one that mattered, and in that game we won everywhere but the scoreboard. Total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, return yards, protection, pancakes. Again, it was turnovers that killed us, and there really isn't much that can be done to control those. A guy who had thrown 12 all season threw 3 in that game.... the backbreaking one on first down with 2 minutes left when all we needed was a chipshot FG to win (still pissed off the sim had us calling time outs when all I wanted was to milk the clock and kick the winner). That heartbreaker pass came on a 90/10 run heavy situation, and that particular play was set at 10% in the package... so a 1% for that particular play to fire. Of course that was the one that the RNG landed on.
NJB won the right to face you guys in the conference championship, but our second match up (in a game that mattered) showed that we came to play. An Austin/HHWC rematch would have been a much closer affair than the first match earlier in the season, but we'll never know for sure unfortunately.
Again, I take nothing from NJB. Great squad (and an outstanding cornerback). They had a fantastic season.
