It is funny to see other people keep bringing up the OOP. I would bet your "majority" that is willing to accept the OOP the way it is, is the same 5 people that have 55% of the posts, and the people that keep bringing up the OOP are the new people reading the thread.

I'd be willing to bet if you counted up the for and against the OOP, you would get more individuals for reducing the OOP, you obviously can't vote twice.

I would like to see the OOP adjusted, but in the interest of just seeing how it would work i would like to see it played normally... because how many people know how hard the OOP will hit in a league like this? not many people out there play a ton of players OOP and therefore do not know its effects

This is the main argument against OOP penalty changes that makes sense, because we don't know what effect they're going to have. And they're going to affect everyone.

I don't think it would really need to be changed. The OoPP should be the same for all leagues. You'd have to reduce it for the normal leagues as well if you were to reduce it for the Iron Man Leagues.

Currently all the leagues run on the same engine. Would it really be necessary to stick extra conditional statements into the code to alter it for this league?

I think not, and I think once we started playing we would realize that it makes the strategy that much more interesting.

Sounds fun!

Seems like a coding task, though.

I guess no one high up thinks custom leagues of a sort are remotely a good idea...

They might be afraid it will open the door to more custom leagues, people wanting to be able to customize their own leagues, and so on ...

That's fine and it's understandable, I know that's on the NGTH list. Sure would be nice if someone would just say so, though, instead of just ignoring an idea that's generated so much interest and support

UPDATE:

Points that have been discussed thus far in the thread:

Some benefits of adding this league would include more player creation (money for GLB), more unique builds resulting from players going both ways (more in line with Bort's original vision of the game), and a different experience and different strategies for current GLB agents, owners and GMs. Smaller roster sizes also would help to create a better sense of community and help with coordination/communication for the entire team. And, a big plus, the player you make and pay for would be on the field a LOT, meaning you get more bang for your buck and don't end up riding the pine.

I'm not sure if there would be all that much extra player creation. When Casual leagues were discussed, that was one of the points that was being made. Since they (Casuals) have been created, the FA market has really shriveled up even more.

There may be a measurable amount of players created for that league, but I wouldn't bet the house on it, tbh.
