Hate to break it to you for the third time, but you won a battle to gain your independence (which I never disputed, but I know that's tough to comprehend with arrogant blinders on all the time). Mexicans crossed your borders and attacked your republic repeatedly. Texas didn't have the forces necessary to stop these unprovoked attacks. Thus they needed help from the union who had the necessary forces to stop the mexican intrusions. I laugh when I see comments like, "Texas didn't join the United States, the United States joined Texas" and you sacks of shit, to this very day, cannot stop mexicans from raiding your borders.
