I say the Monkies have a fair shot at the title this year. I just fear that we'll have to play the NEBP in the playoffs. You know, the guys on the 14 game winning streak...

Yes, Canes out-muscled us. Congrats. Their nose tackle is a fantastic player. Now the Tongans get New England. We'll see how Zeta matches up versus Alpha. Or, maybe more accurately, how a decent Zeta team matches up versus the hottest team in Oceania.

Good job, but I wouldn't get too amped up over beating the Mustangs. Is there anyone in the league that *hasn't* shut them out?

That is NOT a good situation for the playoffs, two cupcakes right before the playoffs. Cupcake games drain your energy like no other, and you have no time to recoop before the 1st round.

That is NOT a good situation for the playoffs, two cupcakes right before the playoffs. Cupcake games drain your energy like no other, and you have no time to recoop before the 1st round.

Sadly, I agree BigD - while it's nice to see an easy end-of-season schedule when considering win totals, playoff ranking, and stat-padding it certainly isn't helping the team's energy any. With our first round matchup being against either Newcastle or Canberra we can't really afford to enter the game with low energy...

Now that we (IC Incinerators) have locked up the 8th seed, I am anxious to see who ends up number one in Zeta Conference.
Obviously I would love a shot at redemption versus the Gods, U Canes, or Tech Titans; but I will look forward to whomever the opponent may be.

I am glad I cannot be knocked out of the 8th seed also because I have a tough game coming up against the Brisbane Bandits, as do most of the top teams in each conference playing each other. Should be a great showing of defensive skill and tactical planning I would imagine.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but when the game was over, my energy was 86. I am back at 100 right now, so if that's the way the rest of the team is going, then it should be no prob to get back to 100, create a decent gameplan against our tougher opponents, and WIN!

Congrats to the Gods on an excellent season so far. Whoever said Zeta is a meat grinder, I whole-heartedly agree. Any team is capable of winning. IC should be the #8 seed & they're as dangerous as a #1 seed. Should be a very interesting playoffs.

Go Zeta in week 16!

I thought that it was the other way around? I know that in real football defenses tire out first, and I was pretty sure that I'd read (and observed) the same holding true here. I know that my NT takes a beating every game. I had to get his stamina over 50 for him to be able to play 60-70 snaps and be fully recovered for the next game.

In general, it's true that defenses tire out faster. But when you go against a cupcake team that you beat 70-0, your offense is always on the field and your defense barely ever sees it except for the occasional three and out from the other team.
