Wow. Considering some of the teams already in the field, I think we drew the short straw if we end up matched up with one of these three teams...


ETA: Nothing against the USA A teams included in this tourney, but I would be willing to bet that any of the above three teams would beat those USA A teams if they faced them.

I believe the Knights are the better of those two teams with an edge in both levels and depth. I do realize that these final couple teams are tough to choose since there is very little difference between them, so I do commend you on your efforts.

My team started in Oceania AAA, but played in the other conference so we never faced either of those teams. I am, however, affiliated with the Bomb Squad and have faced the Crushers through them, so I can vouch for both Oceania AAA teams that they deserve to be in this tourney.

We would still be happy to join the standby list:

If there is still room on the standby list - the Simcoe Warriors, Canada AAA2 would like to be considered.

We beat D.C. Warpath pretty handily last season, gave the Ragin' Cajuns a close game, and have, this season, beat TWO teams in the tournament, the Wall Knights (SA Pro) and the Taiwan Blood Pandas (SEA Pro), the latter being this morning where we had a very convincing win (mostly unboosted as well).

That being said, they are a very good team, and most of the bounces did go our way. But to say that there aren't USA A teams that couldn't beat strong Pro teams is a bit of a fallacy.

EDIT: I just want to reiterate, they are all good teams, and we've had our share of beatdowns too (this season, see Dryden Blues, Halifax Explosion). But I would probably give ourselves 50/50 odds at winning those games again that we won.

Perhaps I was wrong in simply singling out the USA A teams, as I think that the two Oceania AAA teams listed could beat plenty of other teams that made the 64 team field. I know that you have a very good team, as I am a coordinator in your conference, so I have no doubt that you can compete with some of the better teams in GLB. I just have a hard time seeing a top notch USA A team get in over a top notch Oceania AAA team.

SI just sent me a PM saying that his posting rights have been taken away for two days. He is still able to edit his own post on the first page, which will be updated.

He also said that the final three standby teams are included in the tourney and the field is full.


Teams can begin scheduling their first round opponents now as soon as they can.

There are going to be problems. I sent a challenge to my first team, and the earliest we could schedule a game was like day 20.

Yep. I'm not even sure we're going to be able to finish the tourney this season.

Looks to me like there are only 16 games per slot per day and the earliest I can schedule is day 21. This looks like a no go this season I didn't realize Bort had capped the friendlies to 16 per time slot.

I don't think he has a cap on it. I think he was one server, that plays a leagues worth of game for each hour, so he will need a new server.
