He did run this game for 5 years and 36 seasons... how is that "taking your money and giving up on the product"? It's not like this was some giant bait-and-switch or something, and your Flex is usable on the new game too.

If this was nothing more than a con and a money-grab, there are lots of ways Bort could've cashed out and left us all high-and-dry a loooooong time ago.

That's not to say this transition to GLB 2.0 is being handled well (it's not) or that Bort is the best game-runner evar (he's not), but complaints like that one just make me shake my head.

He ran the game for 7 seasons after giving people the honor of paying to test it for him for 30 seasons.

Will I be able to roll an Orc quarterback in the new game? Or have my TE steal a car and beat hookers to death with a golf club? Or shoot other people and take their equipment? I'm still not sold on this game.

Just because GLB was in beta doesn't mean you were testing some raw game. Saying you were paying to test it for him is silly. We all paid because we enjoyed the game. GLB was very much a perpetual beta.

Still, the way some people are carrying on about this, you would think Bort had shut the site down after 3 months and run off to Mexico clutching fistfuls of our cash and yelling "MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!"

Five years. Even with all of its problems, if this game wasn't fun to play, would you have stayed here for five years?

I prefer to think of it in Philanthopic terms. I don't want to see children starve so I donate money to Feed the Children. Then Feed the Children is like fuck these kids, let's go find some others to feed we like better.

That's my point.

I like GLB1 and looked at paying in BETA testing as a way to help subsidize something I liked. GLB2 is more than likely going to kill the aspects of GLB1 that I liked and is sending us back to season 0 of testing a new game.

Will that new game be great? Maybe, I don't know. All I'm saying is I don't want to invest time and/or money into a new game that's still in testing.

GLB1 was below the border before it left beta. Honestly I understand the move and I am still kinda excited to play this new one. Those graphics hurt though.
