It's not like he doesn't have agility though, he has over 70 agility, it's just that he has almost 100 speed too.

Hmmm.. Should I listen to the guy with 10 sacks, or the guy with 48? I'm not quite sure how anyone can argue with you Miked. Thanks for the info btw.

Well, considering I'm a back up this year, but I did lead my league with 29 last year despite being 3-5 levels lower than the competition...

Watch his replays. His guy banks solely on beating the LT off the snap of the ball. Once LT's wise up and get more speed/agi like most have, won't happen.

Over the past 45 games he's played he's had 0 sacks twice. Once when the pass rushing tactics weren't in and Bort had accidentally nerfed speed rushers and once when the other team passed once the whole game. I would think over two seasons of playing the same guy if the answer was to "wise up" that they would've had ample time to do that.

You severely over estimate the intelligence of the general GLB community.

I'm not saying his build is terrible at all. I just think it's banked too much on one stat/ability. Not to mention 20 of his sacks are in a 251-0 blow out.

4 of your 10 scks are from blow outs too.

You can make a DE anyway you want your looks good but so does mikes.

I wouldn't even waste time with this guy. He clearly envy's Mikes DE E-Penis.

OK, let me explain something very clearly. This thread I made to help people develop players similar to my build. If you think your build is good/better, feel free to start your own thread.

Now, for everyone else, here's why speed is better. Long term, we're talking 70+ in both, with all equipment points into speed. This puts you at 90-100 speed and 70ish agility. What advantage would agility give you if you put your equipment there instead? Well, you'd be a little better at shedding blocks. Changing direction and acceleration are pretty much a non-issue at these levels. But for every time the agility guy sheds a block .2 seconds earlier, the speed guy runs right past it or makes plays a play like the interception I posted a few days ago or chases down the RB on a pitch to the opposite side twice as often.

I could post highlights all day of plays that my DE has made that an agility based DE couldn't have made. Many plays that the speed guy makes are simply impossible for the agility guy to make, but the speed guy can make every play the agility guy can.

ok mike i need some help here.

Player Attributes
Physical Attributes Football Skills
Strength: 53.38 Blocking: 20.6
Speed: 79.28 Tackling: 44.28
Agility: 67.38 Throwing: 7
Jumping: 22.48 Catching: 8
Stamina: 33.18 Carrying: 9
Vision: 39.46 Kicking: 10
Confidence: 28.63 Punting: 8
2-2-1-2-0
5-3-5-6-1

I have 2 CEs...one is all SPD and this one is all AGL. I have used both and have not had a ton of sack success. I made some mistakes early but have tried to fix them as I went. What do I need to do and focus training and SPs at the next level?

and with another DE that I am slow building, do you still think VIS is the next softcap after SPD and AGL or the second softcap?

finally, do you think playing on the leftside all the time you would gain the same advantages that you do on the right with the same build?

thanks

I would recommend all equipment in speed. If you'd like to try agility, I'd recommend putting all equipment there, and not splitting it between the two. For long term success, I'd recommend getting speed and agility up to 68 before doing anything else. If you'd like to see some bigger numbers sooner, I'd recommend working tunnel vision up to 9 or 10.

For your younger DE, I would most definitely recommend getting both speed and agility to at least 60, possibly 68, before putting points into vision. The higher you go with them sooner, the better off you are long term.

As for left vs. right, from a pure sacks statline standpoint, left might be a better place to rack up big numbers. I think a speed DE is probably more useful to his team on the right though.

You haven't spent any SP?! Woooow. I saw the 28 speed, but I guess it never clicked that it's way too low for you to've spent any SP.

When're you going to cap it? Or are you going to wait and hardcap it?

EDIT: You already bought Custom EQ?

I assume he'll cap it when he can get to 49 with his SPs.

Yeah, I just noticed the +6 from CEQ. I never thought to buy CEQ that early.

That would be the plan under the old training system. With the new one, I'm going to be waiting a little longer. The plan right now is to train speed+stamina until stamina gets to almost 20, then speed+agility until speed is about 30, then agiity + vision until agility is about 35.

I'll be taking speed up to 68 before putting points into agility, then agility up to 68 before putting points into vision. Once I soft cap vision, I'll move back to training stamina and some tackling while using SPs to max tunnel vision.

Yeah, I figured why not? I'll just upgrade it with the SA tree @ 8.

That's a lot of defferred gratification. I see more and more players being built to really become players in their 4th or even 5th season...makes me wonder what they will do until then?
