Actually it happens a lot and they don't get it right away. You earn that with time in the minors or you are given it right out of the draft if you're good enough, the ones who do are usually one of the top 3 picks in the draft.

No he has not played baseball since he became the QB for WV.....for your information when he signed the LOI to WV...he gave up all of his rights to play baseball

oo soo i thought the draft u watched had pat white drafted in it i dont think they show the amature draft on t v do they... in fact i think 2 years ago was the first time the even showed the mlb draft on tv

if you don't think Pat White was drafted by the angels then your talking out of your ass....WVU stole Pat White from LSU then he was drafted to the Angels so WVU had to recruit him again

Considering he turned down being drafted in the 4th round, to sign a LOI to WVU to play QB, giving up all eligibilty to play baseball, is a big sign he wants his future to be in football, not baseball.

he also turned it down b/c he wanted to play QUARTERBACK and the NFL projects him as a WIDE RECEIVER if he turned down LSU recruiting him as a WR why in the hell would he play it in the NFL
