We won the first national championship game ever, defeating Princeton in 1869. It also happened to be the first football game ever. And as much as I appreciate the Buckeyes nice scarlet in their uniforms, Rutgers was not only the first team to wear scarlet, we were the first school to officially adopt a color. Period.

But when your school is older than the frigging country you get a lot of firsts.

I'm actually going to reverse this one into the proper order -

Anchorage Wolves (24) over Death Valley Vikings (21)

Anchorage beating an unboosted Death Valley by 6 in the regular season doesn't count for much in my book. But I still think they're a great team and could pull off the upset.

Back East
Miami Makos (31) over Salem Cyber Hawks (20)

Gee I don't know if you blessed us or cursed us with this one!!!!!

Yep, the Constitution was signed between classes at Rutgers. The forefathers were all professors there, except for George - he was the gym teacher/coach

We did. Rutgers was chartered as Queen's College about a decade before that. Then San Francisco was founded, and they couldn't all be queens anymore.

Rutgers was chartered in 1766 as Queens College and is the 8th oldest school in the USA. Rutgers sports teams used to be called "The Queensmen". They later changed the school name to Rutgers to Honor a board member and Revolutionary War hero, Henry Rutgers.

Princeton is the de facto state school of NJ. I went to high school there, and the top 50% of my class either went to Princeton or left the state.
