Yeah, I thought it was pretty humorous.
The OP goes on and on about how he needs to keep Speed/Agility at the exact same rate, or is otherwise worried that it will somehow affect his mediocre play.
But when I started a thread about what the ideal Speed/Ratio combo is going to be, with the Season 4 changes, he posted that overly-simplistic nonsense.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=744909
And then, a few weeks later, he comes completely full circle - now assuming that he needs to keep his Speed and Agility the same, or have his player fail.

This game, like many others, is very simple. Ratios will not increase your effectiveness. There is no number you should stop at before your abilities mean nothing. Higher stat = more effectiveness out of that stat.
I assure you, Bort did not program the game to favor people who know that this stat means nothing past that number, or this stat is only effective with enough of that other stat. Thinking there's a magic ratio is idiotic.

Good stuff.
And all of this, from a WR with the stat line of:
24 Catches, 227 Yards, 18.9 Yards Per Game, 1 TD.

Pretty sure 'rocket surgery' was tongue in cheek.
I say it all the time, yet am well aware there is no such thing.

i dont think anyone suspects DW of thinking such a thing as rocket surgery exists, but moreso wonders why hed use an expression my great aunt madge would find humerous. then again, it wouldnt be the comment i would have chosen to latch on, but you still have to respect bukowski's work ethic.

It's so outrageous to imagine that someone would change their mind!
Bukowski, you win the internet warz! +3 internets @ u!!
It's funny that you consider my playing mediocre, considering you've apparently taken no time to garner any insight as to why.
Seen my 90 yard scrim games? Yeah, obviously, I suck!
I'm sure you can't infer things like, what? Roster changes? What's that mean? Oh my god, do you mean someone could actually be a wide receiver but not play as one for several games, making them appear to perform as a lesser wide receiver? INSANE! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?! What? I have tackles? zomgsox!
Is it not well established that agility (at least partially) determines acceleration?
Okay, and speed pretty obviously determines your top speed.
So then, having similar acceleration to top speed, you would assume that the player accelerates proportionately. Is this a magic trick? No. It's simple logic; assuming the formulas work off of logic at all. Does it contradict a statement like "Higher speed will equate to being faster"? How about, "Higher strength will make you stronger"?
I'll give you some time to think about that one.
Take two weeks or so. Maybe by then you'll have the basis for a response.
Jackass.

Wow.
90 whole yards in a single game? That must be some kind of new GLB record. Maybe we should post that up on the main forum, the masses need to know the secret to your unrivaled success.

Wait, wait. I think you've used that line before.

Yes, its all clear to me now.
The game is SO simple to you, that you find it impossible to average more than 19 yards per game.
Tell us more, oh wise one.
Maybe, just maybe, instead of being a dick - you can actually ask for advice (because you obviously need it), without assuming that you already know the answer.
Because the fact of the matter, is that the game is NOT simple for you, your WR is garbage, and to be honest, you haven't a clue to how to build a WR. You clog up this board with garbage all day long, yet all we do is laugh at you for it.
So keep on keeping on with that perfect Agility/Speed ratio. We will all enjoy watching your future all-star performances.

So my WR puts up great numbers against teams that we scored a lot of points against.
Ok.
See there is this thing in football, that's called statistics. An offensive player tends to have more statistics and more scoring chances, the more his team actually scores.
So what would be your WRs excuse? He puts up horrible numbers against everyone.
So lets compare.
Les Carruthers - 26 catches, 245 yards, 9.4 YPC, 1.5 YAC, 1 TD.
My WRs:
Boston George (3rd WR) - 51 catches, 836 yards, 16.4 YPC, 5.8 YAC, 11 TDs
Brad Martinez (5th WR) - 39 catches, 696 yards, 17.8 YPC, 7.7 YAC, 11 TDs
And for some reason, you think this helps your case?
Have a great day.

QB play means a lot in a WRs ability to put up stats my friend. Too many people focus on just their player and sometimes forget that this is a team game. The players around you both on your team and those on your opponents team impact your performance.

I completely agree. I owe a lot of my success to the QBs on the team, but I'm not the one that said that my WRs were anything special.
This guy has been going on and on about how much he knows, how easy the game is, and how easy it is to build a great WR.
He then gets called out on his bullshit, so he resorts to pulling up the game log of my WR - which obviously dwarfs anything he could begin to compete with.
Its a ridiculous argument, I do realize. But I'm just tired of this arrogant prick, roaming around these forums, pretending that his WR is anything but mediocre.
