Little has changed in Alpha after today. In Zeta, however, the picture is becoming much clearer, at least in terms of who will not be going to the playoffs.
ALPHA: As expected, Woodridge defeated London and has now clinched a playoff berth. They remain the only team in Alpha that has clinched a spot at this time. However, Valhalla can clinch the next spot with a win over E-city on Wednesday and their remaining game against Woodridge leaves them the opportunity to claim the #1 seed if they can win out.
Lyon and Nice were both eliminated from playoff contention today. While Nice could still finish with up to 6 wins, It is not possible for Stuttgart, E-city, Carthage, and Wembley to all lose out and Nice owns no tiebreakers over them anyway. And while it is likely that Lyon and the Assassins will be relegated, at this point Blackpool and Nice are also still in possible danger of being moved down.
Week 13 will make or break alot of Alpha teams. Of the 11 teams that are currently at .500 or better, 8 of them will play each other this week:
Woodridge - Lake Charles
Valhalla - E-City
FTA - AWC
Stuttgart - Wembley
Nobody has an easy road to the playoffs:
1) Woodridge still has two tough games against Valhalla and Toledo.
2) Valhalla closes at the Scorgasms after visiting Woodridge.
3) Berlin takes on three teams eager to crash the playoffs in Wembley, Stuttgart and Reykjavik.
4) Toledo takes on Woodridge, then finishes at the dangerous Korb Destroyers.
5) FTA takes on the PB to their J (or vice versa) this week against Aberdeen, then meets the upset minded E-City Mercenaries.
6) Aberdeen hosts the Aggies, and then welcomes Wembley and the high-flying Frankfurt Heat.
7) Lake Charles may be a little overmatched against Woodridge, and then they have to deal with Carthage and Rohrheim.
8) Stuttgart has a chance to make some noise with matchups against Wembley and Berlin.
9) E-City will take lessons learned against Valhalla into the primetime contest at FTA, and then close at home agaisnt the Pimps.
10) Carthage takes on the all-but-eliminated, but tough London squad, then meets Lake Charles for what could be the final playoff spot.
11) Wembley may have the toughest schedule of all, facing four potential playoff teams in Stuttgart, Berlin, Aberdeen and Paris.
