Little has changed in Alpha after today. In Zeta, however, the picture is becoming much clearer, at least in terms of who will not be going to the playoffs.

ALPHA: As expected, Woodridge defeated London and has now clinched a playoff berth. They remain the only team in Alpha that has clinched a spot at this time. However, Valhalla can clinch the next spot with a win over E-city on Wednesday and their remaining game against Woodridge leaves them the opportunity to claim the #1 seed if they can win out.

Lyon and Nice were both eliminated from playoff contention today. While Nice could still finish with up to 6 wins, It is not possible for Stuttgart, E-city, Carthage, and Wembley to all lose out and Nice owns no tiebreakers over them anyway. And while it is likely that Lyon and the Assassins will be relegated, at this point Blackpool and Nice are also still in possible danger of being moved down.

Week 13 will make or break alot of Alpha teams. Of the 11 teams that are currently at .500 or better, 8 of them will play each other this week:
Woodridge - Lake Charles
Valhalla - E-City
FTA - AWC
Stuttgart - Wembley

Nobody has an easy road to the playoffs:
1) Woodridge still has two tough games against Valhalla and Toledo.
2) Valhalla closes at the Scorgasms after visiting Woodridge.
3) Berlin takes on three teams eager to crash the playoffs in Wembley, Stuttgart and Reykjavik.
4) Toledo takes on Woodridge, then finishes at the dangerous Korb Destroyers.
5) FTA takes on the PB to their J (or vice versa) this week against Aberdeen, then meets the upset minded E-City Mercenaries.
6) Aberdeen hosts the Aggies, and then welcomes Wembley and the high-flying Frankfurt Heat.
7) Lake Charles may be a little overmatched against Woodridge, and then they have to deal with Carthage and Rohrheim.
8) Stuttgart has a chance to make some noise with matchups against Wembley and Berlin.
9) E-City will take lessons learned against Valhalla into the primetime contest at FTA, and then close at home agaisnt the Pimps.
10) Carthage takes on the all-but-eliminated, but tough London squad, then meets Lake Charles for what could be the final playoff spot.
11) Wembley may have the toughest schedule of all, facing four potential playoff teams in Stuttgart, Berlin, Aberdeen and Paris.

Well if the RNG is as kind to you v. the Pimps as it was mean to you v. us, you probably will

I dont know how you figure London to be "all-but-eliminated", I think we have a real good chance of making the playoffs.

Heh.. who'd have guessed the stampede would not be even making the playoffs at the begining of the year.

Congrats on the victory today, and I hope it bodes well for the rest of the year. I basically made that comment (before today) on the basis of the 5-7 record, and that 11 teams were ahead of the squad.

Even now, London is still at 6-7, "tied" for tenth. My best guess is that 10-6 is the worst a team can do and make the playoffs; London can finish no better than 9-7.

Fair enough. The best we can finish is 9-7, but we do have the tie-breaker on Wembley and Stuttgart, and if we make 9-7 that means we'll have the tie-breker on Carthage too. Unless 1 of the teams competing with us wins a game that I don't think they will then 3 more wins should do it for us.

It is a big if though. The next game against Carthage will be the one that makes or breaks our season. Even if we win that though the Mountain Lions have improved towards the end of the season and the Meatballs are one of the top teams in Zeta.

Gaah...there's so much math involved in just figuring out head-to-head play that I don't even want to mess with it.

But with all the possible combinations of wins and losses over the next three weeks, just including the 12 teams at 6-7 or better (12288 non-unique combinations if I multiplied right)--we know that London need to win out, thereby eliminating half of the possible outcomes. That's a 50% chance right there, and then when we dig deeper into outcomes that are duplicated or have no effect on the Monarchs' chances, the likelihood just keeps dropping.

I like the Monarch team. Always play hard and there's good people running the show. I agree with The SSS...beat Carthage and the picture becomes much clearer.

Shoot, beat Carthage just to give Toledo and AWC some breathing room.

My thoughts:

Scorgasms - Will lose to the Trolls, Stampede, and Vikings. Finish @ 10-6
Musketeers - Will lose to the HEAT and Warriors. Finish @ 10-6
Destroyers - Will lose to the Pimps . Finsih @ 10-6
Aggies - Will lose to the Trolls and BlitzKreig. Finish @ 10-6
Meatballs - Will lose to the Trolls, and Monarchs. Finish @ 10-6
Roughnecks - Will not lose anymore games. Finish @ 10-6

whats the tiebraker for 6 even teams?

Tiebreakers go like this: Head to head Games, then points scored, then points allowed....something like that.
