Shed block. Its the key to DT sacks. A lot of it has to do with the line playing around you as well though.

how do you know this?

Because shed block has a lot to do with agility, and for DTs agility has a lot to do with sacks. The high strength really helps with manhandling an o-line on running plays.

100 strength and 60 agility? damn. my DT is not nearly that strong and he's got 12 sacks on the season already, and is a tackling machine... I should mention he's got nothing in strong base but 4 into shed block.

just cuz hes lining up next to me.

How much agility do you have?

Shed block is crazy good. I'm of the opinion that strength is important too (swim moves require strength).

20 plays a game against players 6 levels above you is the first problem. Whats your vision and speed? 70/50 at level 17 means you either dumped too much into SA early or you have some very high secondaries. But AGI and STR are too low you are probably going against blockers with 80+ in their man stats.

We all know he has a good DT, but it looks like all of his sacks came early on when D-Lines were just destroying O-lines. There hasn't been any recent production so I don't know if Bort made Strong Base less effective.

Even so, his large amount of hurries and tackles proves the player is still very effective. And 45 sacks between seasons 2 and 3 hints towards his player not just being a 3 game wonder when d-lines dominated o-lines...

I've got 62 agility. I should say that after playing DT for the last 16 games or so, I was just reverted back to NT for my last game. I didn't get any sacks but I did get 5 tackles and 1 hurry. Obviously I'm not going to put up the kind of numbers at NT that I did at DT, but I think I will be filling my new role as a run stuffer successfully.

for a lvl 17, your DT is ok. Just keep pumping strength and agility to the second soft cap.

There's a DT on these boards who had 15 sacks last season and 0 this season. Things are different from season to season.

Most of those tackles are from the first three games and the hurries are well spread out, won't argue that.
