You beat us
Portland beat you
We beat Portland.

Head to head doesn't work at all which is why Sully leaves it out of the equation.

I love how we (Gotham City Punishers) had a ridiculously high rating while we were tearing up the cream puffs, but then we start to actually beat some of the good teams in our league and we drop, even below a team that loses to another great team. I love being up high, because I know it won't last long, but that's some funny math Feels too much like BCS math to me, which must mean it works by media standards.

Still, I really appreciate your work. Great game yesterday.

Actually... Cleveland dropped from 1 to 2. You guys just stayed at 3, but made the gap closer (.27 points then compared to .01 points now).

As far as your numbers dropping, not a bug, working as intended. Did you perform at the same level of production that you did against the teams you played earlier? Apparently not, as I watched your per game totals drop the past couple of weeks, causing a slide in your number. This is the strength of schedule taking effect for you.

Yeah, that's what I mean, I thought our weak strength of schedule would hurt us more than apparently it did up until the last few weeks. Up until now, I thought that once our true competition started, our rating would go up if we could continue to win, and it's done the opposite. It's going to drop alot in the next few weeks, so it doesn't really matter either way, lol!

i laugh at gotham's strength of schedule to date...they have played nothing but creampuffs and apparently think their record means something. they are JUST NOW coming into the meat of their schedule so we'll see what's what in the next few days.

You obviously haven't been paying attention. All of our posts have been about how we had nothing but creampuffs and were looking forward to the real competition. Nobody on our team wanted our schedule to be this way, if anything I'd prefer the Lumberjacks schedule... take all of your lumps at the beginning and hit the playoffs on a high note, rather than cruising and then losing all the games at one time.

I know exactly what kind of team we are, and I fully expect to lose at least 2 of the next 3, if not worse. I still consider us to be the 5th or 6th best team in the West... and that's when we're playing how we are capable of. The way we've played lately, maybe even that's a stretch. But we have improved drastically each season, and will be a force soon enough.

That's basically what I was referring to. It seems putting up huge numbers against weak teams is great for your power ranking and beating good teams brings your total down... but it's a numbers thing... I'm not good at numbers, so I wouldn't understand. lol

Well, it seems that way just because of the effed-up way the schedule happened to take place this year for the 6.

The ratings are based on per game numbers. Consistency and/or continued improvement are your friend in these rankings. In the BBB's first year, when the ratings used aggregate totals instead of per-game numbers, you're right that blowing out cupcake teams helped you out. Now, it's based on average numbers and whether you can maintain or improve that average.

Now that you are playing better teams, you're not matching the numbers you put up against the cupcakes, and thus your score is falling. You'll still gain points from winning, but you're losing points based on your game totals dropping. Of course, that said, I do believe you got closer to the #2 spot, as I mentioned in my earlier post, so did you really move down?

Something to think about... Indirectly, everything ends up balancing out.

actually sackdaddy, in another thread, one of your boys was spoutin off about your undefeated record.

like i said...your record don't mean squat against the cream puffs you have been playing so for this guy to say anything about it is stupid. not a poke at you but at the guy who made that other statement.

Even though you guys lost, I think you proved you belong near the top. I'm impressed and am now a believer!

I can't believe we kept it that close, I fully expected to lose by at least 2 TDs, much the way the Death Stars and Dirtybirds did... because I still see those teams as being better than us.

And considering it took OT for us to finally fall, that's close enough to a win for me. lol! Definitely looking forward to playing you Seattle, I hope this game is closer than any of our others! Good luck out there.

Mind pointing that out? I have never heard one of our players become cocky on these forums. HELL not even in our own threads.

Good game cajuns hope to see yall deep in the playoffs.

it was YOU when the records were brought up you said "they're not the only 8-0 team" just sounded like you were tooting your own horn.

Link

The only team tooting their own horn is the Cajuns.
We're #1 baby, woohoo!
