I'm not the owner, and I don't have the power to gut. I'm just done trying to build characters if Bort is going to come in three seasons into their careers and make them totally useless because he has some secret formula for how he wants everyone's players to be speced.

I'm just kind of fed up, and I kind of wish I could get a refund. Before I start to sound like I'm in full speed ahead whine mode.... I'll stop.

Gutting the team because of pre-season bugs and changes in a Beta game is a bit odd. We are all in the same boat. The simulation from our game today made it impossible to pass at all, and both QBs sucked, and hopefully Bort will fix things up. The game will always take some steps backwards along the way occasionally, as long as Bort keeps driving things ahead, I'm not worried. The potential for this game is so huge, I'm not going to give up over something trivial.

I was amazed at how bad passing was. I was more amazed at how your DL made our offensive line look like a gutted team. If that's an indication of how things are going to go, considering our dominant d-line was pathetic at the ends, where it was a strength, then I might be following riccor (as an owner anyway)

The Sim is screwed up right now, hopefully they will get it figured out before the season.

My sense is that Wednesday's games were not indicative of what the rest of the season is going to be like, because there were a lot of things they needed to work out.

So it's a little early to be calling your players "totally useless."

If you want to put it that way, though, it turns out they were already "totally useless," because they're just names and stats in a totally fictitious online game! The only thing they're useful for is recreation and/or distraction....

Just one way to look at it, anyway.

Yeah, I know it's just fictional. That's why I'm 100% willing to cut my losses and move on. It is just a game, but it's a game that I've invested some cash in because I was enjoying it.

Wednesday was exaclty what the rest of this season will be like unless Bort unfixes the sim with regards to how the players worked. I'm not talking about the new AI fixes just the attribute corrections. For instance, DEs with 50+ strength, 50+ speed, and 50+ agility lolly gagging towards the O-line like they are wearing lead shoes because they don't have whatever magical number of vision, confidence, and blocking. At this poing (mid 20s) it will take the entire season to train/level up to fix the problems.

I've noticed some funky things as well. Fortunately everyone's suffering equally from what I'm guessing. I'm sticking with it because God hates a coward and I'm like the wart that won't go away. I've put too much money into this to give up the ship. Our guys are on the rise. It's time to capitalize and continue our mission into becoming a wicked awesome dynasty. Our guys believe and we will achieve. I just hope it happens faster than it did for the Steelers.

The word coward is so tremendously misplaced in this discussion. The bottom line is if you think your butcher is selling you rotten meat because he thinks it's fresh, you find another butcher.

If this game is heading in a downward direction with little chances of improving, I will be the first to give it up. However, although there are definitely small bumps, growing pains, and other problems, I see the trend in this game becoming more fun and more interesting. The AI Tactics are amazing and can only improve. The proposed changes for players will make it even more interesting to own a player. Even more anticipated is how teams react to the eventual decline of their players after 10 seasons. I have no doubts this game will be even better than it is now a few seasons down the road. If you have a differing viewpoint, thats understandable. However, a few hiccups along the way are the only way this game can improve, and its tolerable in my opinion as long as the overall trend is upward.

I just got back from vacation to find my newly signed player back on the streets with a nice chunk of change in his pocket. Only in USA BBB16!

Question for you then, do you think that the emphasis on the different attributes should never change as he stabilizes the game? Previous to this season, Speed was king, you had VERY unbalanced builds ruling the field. On Crimson, our best receiver was three levels lower than our others, because he was dumping the greatest number of his attribute points into speed. His agility wasn't too bad, but his vision, confidence, and catching sucked, yet no one could cover him all that well.

Does that sound like a good game design to you? One attribute that rules them all?

I'd get very bored with a game like that in a heartbeat. The funniest thing? In our last scrimmage, we toyed with his position a bit, and guess who caught like a 50+ yard TD pass?

The game's focus on certain attributes has to morph somewhat. When it is completed, there certainly should be more than one way to build a dominant player.
