Also, I want a WEPL team to make it farther than any EEPL or CPL team, and I want it bad. Too bad I won't get a lot of support, but we'll probably kick all of their asses by ourselves anyway.

You have my support 100% in the tourny. One of the main reasons we chose not to participate is because its basically just all based on opinion and bias. That and the few brackets that I saw posted had the Billy Goats playing the US Pro champs from last season, so it probably would have been pretty pointless and a waste of a free friendly anyway.

I would rather have control of who I play with those.

Good luck - I just don't feel like supporting a list that is so full of bias. Also, it doesn't hurt that the Vikings would be one of the lowest rated teams, and thus I'd be stuck paying for each game myself.

To hell with that, I know the Vikings would kick the shit out of a good chunk of those teams - that's all that matters to me.

i havent heard anything, but i think Rohrheim Stampede might be participating.

if nothing else, it gives us an opponent who is willing to scrimmage with us so we can practice more for the season.

I can confirm we will participate, there is no way to make a list of Top 64 teams without discussion or controversy, but an attempt to find the best team in GLB should fins our support.

And with all the controversy between Canada and WEPl, this is a way to show who is not better talking, but better building and playing a GLB team.

That's exactly why we are going to determinate it by having a tournament. Why is everyone complaining about the rankings? Everyone knows they suck, so what? Just compete and show everyone how good/bad you are instead!

It feels like, atleast some of you, are boycotting this tournament because you're afraid that you'll perform bad...

I'm with ya morbo. I don't really get it either. It's the kind of inter-league competition that people have been waiting for. Yea, the tourney rankings are biased, but you guys were still invited.

The only qualm I have with the tourney, is that the lower seed has to pay for both teams. That's extremely ghey. I don't care if it does come out to only 3$....it's the principle of the matter.

We'll pull for you, but I won't go near that stuff. The whole thing is just a waste of time, IMO.

I hope the heat does not validate this idiots tournament. I personally would love to play the top teams but the way they had to be talked into even including WEPL teams rubbed me the wrong way and steelersinsider is an idiot and a huge POS. Offering guys flex points to sign with his team goes too far

Edit: Go Woodridge!!!

That pretty much sums it up

Screw the Top 64. Go with a straight Top 16. Winners and runner-ups of each Pro League in a simple knockout tourney. Seed the winners 1-8, the runner-ups as 9-16. Four rounds, one champion.

that wouldnt work, cause several of the lower USA leagues could easily beat a couple pro league champs.

So?

Given the number of teams in all the professional football (soccer) leagues in Europe, it wouldn't be unheard of to believe that an average team in one league (let's say Italian Serie A) could beat a top team in another league (the Bundesliga, for example).

But the UEFA Champions League is just that. You're the best in your league, and you get to go up against the best from the other leagues.

If you're the best in your league and you can't match up with the best from another...get better.

If you're not the best in your league and think you can beat the best from another...get better.
