Exactly. There was a promise of playing time, and that promise was broken. We need to have more options in the contracts.

and what reprocussions do players suffer when they break their promises in their own self interest? None. The best way to avoid this scenario is to require a big signing bonus and a no trade clause.

I will not sign any contract that has a option that "requires" starting time. Unless that player can guarantee that there will never be someone better to fill his spot, or his performance in a game is guaranteed.

I heard that! I got roped onto a loser team with big talk from the owner too. Sure players can go inactive etc. but once they are signed to a team they are screwed if the owner is just a flat-out liar like mine is. There needs to be more enforceable stipulations to hold people to their word put in place.
I mean, "Guaranteed starting position! We pay for all upgrades when the time comes!" sounds great until you sign.. but bad owners don't have to live up to any of this hype. My guy is enjoying this scenario right now.

2) it's an unfortunate part of the game, but players can (and do) screw over owners (just as often) by going inactive, not following gameplans, and promising to re-sign for long term contracts & then running away w/o even a PM. Your situation sucks, but you gotta suck it up and deal w/ it.
I vote for response of the year! I couldn't have said it better myself!
I 2nd that

yeah, I would normally agree b/c this rule is best for GLB, however
SOME OWNERS NEED TO GET BASHED once in a while.

if they promise a starting position, and u end up not getting any plays at all that's wrong, but there can be scenarios where that guarantee is not in the owner's control. this happened to me in one scenario this offseason. due to the extraordinarily low % acceptance rate i sent out multiple offers multiple positions at the same time. b/c i'm on all day that's normally not a problem, but when i woke up i had signed 2 OTs that i promised starting positions to, both w/ no trade clause agreements. Maybe i did something wrong, but i had i not told them they'd be a starter (which i thought would be true) it's unlikely anyone would have signed w/ me. Now i have a pissed off OT who's demanding a release even tho i've offered to have him back up both OT positions and special teams which should give him more plays than the linemen starting ahead of him.

4. You sucked...flat out...
5. A LVL 2 CB starting KR/PR?
6. You still live with your mother....
I could go on for hours King of Dads...
I suggest you get a fucking life...or eat a big one...you decide which you wanna do...

I was the goddamn GM! I was getting players for your damn team, and why is PMing the owner with players to sign a bad thing? I didn't choose to be the starter you idiotic moron! When you get a contract saying you will get plenty of PT and KR and PR for the team and we like your build, I don't care what level you are, if you choose me and made the big thing that I'm going to be your main KR/PR, then I want to go to your team because that's the best offer. But if you were going to trade me to a team right after my first game for you guys to rescue a friend of the owner who tried to be the star of a sucky team but ended up being screwed because the team doesn't give a shit bout anything and then throw someone you just signed and promised PT to that dump, then why didn't you warn me of that and I wouldn't have gone to your team. And me being a man, why doesn't your owner be a man and play out his commitment? If you want to rescue him, fine, trade them cash! And no I'm not 12, I'm a dad, unlike you I don't have sex in middle school.
Edit: About the team going 1-7, shows what skills you and your owner signing players. And I didn't suck, I had a Top Performer for that one game, while your team went down to the ground like Britney Spear's shaven hair!

I was on that team with you and the overwhelming majority of us were happy to play on a winner(made conf. finals lost by a point). Your name says it all, your a T.O. disciple and I feel bad for the next team that signs you if you don't get all the touches. You would rather go 0-16 and put up numbers than help a winning team. Your type is a penny a dozen.

To maks kid. You're just another internet tough guy, send me a profanity laced message and block my reply. Your build blows and my CB would eat you for lunch. I see you still haven't found a team. I wonder why that is ? A level 12 WR with 30 speed and 20 agility, retire and try again, tough guy. Join my CB's league and we'll put this to rest.
