if it was the reason they said, who knows it might be gone again in an hour or 2.

no it wouldnt really its on the main forum.
they said it was hacked and the team was sold.
which i can't see happening.
someone hacked into my account..did nothing but sell my team. didn't cut any players which would have screwed me more...didnt mess with any of my chars equipment or anything. i even have a couple players with skillpoints lingering, that werent touched.
just sold the team.
so im 99% sure something else was at play. but i can't think of anyone who not only hates us, and has the admins/mods ear, but also has something to gain by our team being screwed over. can't imagine who but its sort of scary that it could happen that way, if it did.

I think you're right on being weary of their explanation. Accounts don't just get "hacked" out of the blue. They'd have to either have phished your account info from you, broken into the GLB database, or somehow guessed the password. As you noted, there's little reason to do that if you're not going to gut the team or sell the account to someone who will.
The admins seem a little quick to attribute everything to "hackers"...
