Because you're generally going to be shedding the TE, I've found that it isn't AS effective as if you were a DE... but it's still worth having.

65+ speed sounds like an EASY thing to you! It'd take more than the whole boosting SP I will get to get it to 65 if I spent it all on speed.

Another thing, good god! Everyone thinks this is NEW! Every team I have been on has a blitz oriented ROLB, I am taking it a step further by getting more effectiveness out of him in a trade-off with possible run defense.

Well, I'm not saying you have to RIGHT AWAY, but that'd be my next goal if that's going to be your niche. I've got level 62 speed at level 20, but I've been spending a lot of time at LOLB this year, so I'm not blitzing as much. If that's your MAIN goal, though, you definately are going to need that much speed to make sure you're getting to the QB. Not to mention it won't make you useless in run D when you can get around to adding some vision.

Speed, Shed Block, Vision would be what I'd work on for your guy, in that order.

AGI is VITAL in being a pass rusher. AGI is your acceleration and how fast you come off the ball. It is also your lateral movement from side to side. The quicker you are, the faster you will come off the ball in getting to get a QB.

Most OT builds today in GLB are AWFUL. You know why? Because everyone focuses on STR and BLCK when they should be working on AGI. AGI is how fast they come off the snap in run blocking, AGI is how quick they can sit down in pass pro. Acceleration is a key part that GLB OT builders leave out in creating their players.

Now, who is a typical BIG STRONG SLOW OT going to have a harder time blocking?

A LB who has lightning quickness off the snap with great change of direction OR a LB who takes a while to get going, but is hard to stop when downhill?

I'm going to take the first guy, because the second guy is more of a Bull Rusher and should be paired with SPD and STR to reach the QB. If you are a LB and you want to get to the QB.. Would you rather spend points in one area (AGI) to get around BIG STRONG SLOW OT to get to the QB or spend points in two areas (STR and SPD) to get through a BIG STRONG SLOW OT.

I just don't see why everyone is creating super SPD demon LBs in trying to get to the pass rusher. And with Bort's nerf to SPD next season, there is no way in HELL you will get past OTs with no AGI. Take my advice as you wish, but AGI is the key to being a successful pass rusher. You don't want to go through big guys with SPD and STR, you want to go AROUND them with your AGI.

Bort isn't nerfing the power of speed, but is tweaking the acceleration formula to be agility 'heavy' in which 2/3s your speed in agility = current settings. I do believe all of that but I speed'ed myself tot he soft cap therefore, my agility 'lacked' I am just now getting to filling my stats in.

Nice post though, well written and a BUNCH of truth. I mentioned the shit builds Oline has because they are all pass blockers. Next season the run game won't be fixed, it will be fixed fully when people balance their Oline builds.
