I agree the bonuses are kind of shitty in that scenario, but I am old enough to know that there are two sides to every story. Usually somewhere in between the two stories is the truth. He obviously was very committed to your team or he wouldn't have had so many good players on it. You seem more concerned about a new owner that you haven't met yet than an agent that has commited his time and money to you. Just sayin

He went against my wishes as the OWNER not to gut the team. That's what I'm upset about.

Aye, whatever is going on, a GM shouldn't be taking signing bonuses from a team they're leaving in less than 10 days.

Honestly I feel you should have been the guy that offered his players the shorter contracts. He signed a contract with you. You're giving up the team. If there is no guarantee that the new owner will give your former guys an opt out option then players that believed in you may or may not be stuck on a team they never signed up for. If you ever had a player in that position you would feel different about it.
I don't want to keep this thread going, but I do feel strongly about it so I will speak my mind. I hope the guys you're leaving behind want to be there. If they don't then you're not helping the new owner anyway.

In this way all players that wanted to stay would have a chance to sign a new contract - with the NEW owner

Osmo stated his intentions of leaving the team welllll before Mike decided he was no longer going to be the owner. What he did was just plain unsportsmanslike, and he should be banned.

I believe all my players know they can contact me if they wanted to renegotiate to a shorter contract so they don't get stuck with the new owner. Besides Osmo already had a contract ending on day 40.

I recently posted on my team's forum that I did not plan on renewing my team ownership and said I was not going to gut the team so the new owner would have something to work with. The problem is, Just Osmo, one of my ex-GMs, decided to renegotiate all 9 of his players contracts with a 120,000 yearly salary and a 100,000 signing bonus. Personally I think this should be punished in some way. Not only did he gut the team, he went against the owner's decisions regarding the team. I do take some responsibility because I meant to remove his GM abilities but didn't. I just wanted to let the Administration know to see if this needs to be addressed. Thank you for your time and this wonderful game.

Just think its better if MikeHart and JustOsmo talk about it here rather than involve everyone on GLB as some of the more regular posters are asshats and will just start another flaming thread.
