I would think that catching helps if you are well covered as well.

what's a good catching stat for a level 10? 25? 30?

Aw EFF. mine is just around 20. New plan: I'm going to put training on Confidence and the next 3 levels I'm going to focus on getting 30 for catching.

This build is 50+ in catching and his speed is under 50

Also nothing is more fustrating than a dropped pass, especially when it could mean a 1st down.

What do you have jumping and confidence at?

My wr has over 60 in catching and had 90 receptions this season. He was a level 10-15 during the season going against level 15-20 cb's.

I put all points into catching and special abilities as an experiment, and it kind of worked

Looking in this WR Club it seems like the majority of the guys in here think that the only time you should invest in catching is when your guy starts dropping balls .

I think that's all wrong , and I'll tell you why:

If you look at it , I'm almost certain that it will help you reduce PDs - through the fact that you now have better catching technique and your "catching zone" is now bigger and you will be able to get the ball under control faster than otherwise and therefore the speedloss when catching a ball will also be reduced .

So instead of pumping up that expensive speed I'm gonna cap my catching instead getting my speed further than capped .

Agree/disagree anyone ?

Agree - See my WR - Duron Carter, and my post about it here

The importance of catching....

The Level 21 CB certainly has more catching and jumping than my level 10 WR. I had it, and then I didn't.

...but at the end of the day, speed is king! Oh ya, and a nice pump fake gets my guy enough clearance to make the catch and get moving again.

Ya know, My level 21 WR has catching of 38 and only dropped 6 balls all year. It's important, but HOW important. Another guy on my team has catching of 48 and he dropped 3 on the year. that 10 point difference could have taken a guy from speed 48 to speed 58 and made a huge difference.

I actually believe that the more your WR has in catching, the more passes will be thrown to him.

I don't know about that. I was the #3 WR all season and got very little targets until the final 3rd of the season once I had pumped pts. into speed and agility and ignored catching for once. My targets went up a lot, presumably because I was open now.

Depends on your speed/agility .

I think you will need the speed/agility to get open , but if you see yourself getting open it would help to add some more catching , instead of those who add more in speed I think you will get more passes thrown to if you put those in catching instead .

I also read in the build guide I think that sticky hands SA works better with high catching. Catching is the base attribute to make sticky hands effective.
