Hey all I wanted from this was that teams stick with it, the unexpected merger of the Cincinnati Tigers and Moscow Monsters resulted in Atlantis, which no knock on the guy who took over the team, but it hurt our league. It also hurt our league that Silesia were cheaters and I caught it, but they were dumb cheaters and deserved it. Had both of those teams not done what they did, Zeta would have Sooner and Novosibirsk being relegated this season and we would have a hell of a conference next season.

The problems in Alpha are morefold because there has been more uncompetitive teams from the start and then add in the gutting and it seems to be a cyclical problem. I really encourage people to stick with it, particularly in Alpha just to get that conference to the point where there are at max 2 uncompetitive teams per season, so that those teams can always be relegated.

I wasnt trying to rank the quality of the teams at all, personally I dont care that much about that, I never have, I have only said that I want competitive conferences and a fun league where we can look at stats and they mean something. This season the stats from alpha mean nothing to me, I only compare our team to how we are faring in Zeta, because due to the complete imbalance of Alpha the really strong teams rack up huge numbers against the really bad ones and then have reasonable to low numbers against equal or at least competitive teams.

So again, please please stay, I really want a competitve league. I cant tell you how much more interesting and fun it has been this season with Prague having 3 more really strong teams to play in Zeta and us holding off to boost. Sure .. we let a few slip away this season, but close games and losses actually are motivation to improve things and Im glad that we have it, because as it was last season we had little motivation to really improve or fix the small things. The loss to Sarajevo forced our hand to improve our kicker, we did that and he kicked the same number of FGs in HALF of this season as he did in all of last season. We had Belgrade beat us with a int return for TD and a KR for TD, int returns for TDs you have to accept that they will happen sometimes, but we improved our kickoff/return teams as a result of that game. I would love for each and every team in this league to have fun games like that where you might lose, but you learn something and get better.

I agree with Randy on this, it would be kinda nice if the league was so balanced, that the Conference Champs had like 9-7 records and the worse teams like 6-10 or so. Then when the playoffs rolled around every team had a legitimate shot at winning the title, instead of the clear cut favorites.
It WOULD be much for fun if we had only one 'tier' of teams-"Elite", I think it can happen but it will take leagues staying involved over time.

And I know these actual numbers may never happen, but it would be more fun, eh?
Just my 2 cents!

its definitely been a fun season. Us over here in Budapest have been working our asses off gameplanning, and sometimes it doesnt work out the way we like but its been a blast. We went from a crap team at season one, to an average team last season, to a pretty good team this season all with gameplanning. I love having teams like SGA, Belgrade, Prague, and the likes in our division it makes us work that much harder and focus more on our builds.

The entire team was blatant single player (multi) accounts that they had used in a fake referral scheme, most of the accounts were names like

master1
master2
master3

There were 30 such players on their team, I was scouting them and discovered this and decided to alert support, at which time 90% of their team was banned and they were pretty darn competitive until this season where all of their contracts ran out and their team didnt replace people and Digitial Daggers took over their team for a while, it has been a messed since they decided that they didnt want to pay for their team.

Randy,

considering the 'apparent' imbalance between Alpha and Zeta, think we ought to consider realigning EEPro after the playoffs? From what you posted, we'd be fully competitive by the end of next season, I think.

I dont think the mods would do that. Besides, what we really need is for about 8 teams to move up next season, 5 to Alpha and 3 to Zeta. However, as Novosibirsk has been much more competitive lately .. maybe 2 to Zeta as usual and 4 to Alpha? Even adding one powerhouse from somewhere else in a lower league, like the Black Hand coming over this season would really change things up in Alpha.

The difficulty is that there is a system in place and without teams actively trying to run away like the New Jersey Devils, we cant really "force" any of the non-competitive teams to move, as this will occur naturally if we are just patient.

Of course the fault in that system is that the more seasons go by that a team feels that they are at the bottom of the pile and cant get out, the more likely they are to be gutted/quit and then that compounds the problem of having numerous bad teams already.

FWIW, Novosibirsk looks like a pretty solid squad to me. I wouldn't be wishing them out of my conference if I were you. I'm pretty sure they'd be a playoff team in Alpha.

Thats where they are deceptive Beefeater, they have levels, some builds are really good, some are not. And clearly tactics are an issue, because even if their builds arent the best, they have solid enough levels across the board to be more competitive than they have been. However, as of late they have got some of their stuff together (possibly someone new doing tactics, as their owner is that 15 year old that owns 6 teams and GMs upteen more) and yes, they could be better next season.

Ah I went and checked them and tpat gave up the team to Hoser and now they are competitive, funny how that works. An owner that really cares about a team and doesnt have 20 teams and being a mod to worry about can actually win with a team that should win. Wild idea, maybe tpat will give up more of his teams to his GMs so that they can all stop losing all the time.

The Drachen are staying put for one more season. Hoping we can figure out what is wrong with the team during that span or we likely wont be back for season 5.

So if any of you want to lend a hand and get us a nice HB and some D-Line help for next season. We could use it. lol
